But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Kurt Van Hallebeeck couldn't finish the play. In the 8th minute, Sergio De Groot got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Ewout Verbeke's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Wouter Decoster read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 10th minute of play. Wouter Decoster showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Stephen Van Eijcken, who was totally free with the ball in the 12th minute. Sergio De Groot fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 16th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Yvan Rauvoe having to interfere. If Stephen Van Eijcken had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 20th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 22 minutes into the match, V zondereigen's Ewout Verbeke sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Wouter Decoster narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Wouter Decoster showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Stephen Van Eijcken, who was totally free with the ball in the 23rd minute. In the 27th minute, Stephen Van Eijcken made a precise shot to the right of Wouter Decoster. Sporting Lancer Evo's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-1. With a little luck, V zondereigen's Yvan Rauvoe got control of the ball when Sergio De Groot tried to sneak it across the goal line. Wouter Decoster came out of the goal in the 33rd minute to try and stop a shot by V zondereigen's Ewout Verbeke. But to his dismay, Ewout Verbeke quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-2. Wouter Decoster made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Ewout Verbeke in the 36th minute of play. 38 minutes into the match, Stephen Van Eijcken had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Wouter Decoster. Sporting Lancer Evo's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Stephen Van Eijcken was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-3. V zondereigen's Yvan Rauvoe proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 43rd minute of the match, managed to save V zondereigen from getting a goal against them. Wouter Decoster showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Stephen Van Eijcken in the 45th minute of the match. After 46 minutes, Kurt Van Hallebeeck mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Sporting Lancer Evo and the V zondereigen players grew even worse after the yellow card. After 47 played minutes Sporting Lancer Evo got a freekick which was hit by Kurt Van Hallebeeck. The Sporting Lancer Evo players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. V zondereigen were winning 0-3.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Stephen Van Eijcken made a kick off. In the 59th minute, Stephen Van Eijcken got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Ewout Verbeke sent away a hard shot on goal in the 60th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Sporting Lancer Evo's Sergio De Groot got a good chance for a goal in the 66th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. The supporters of Sporting Lancer Evo booed when V zondereigen was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 67 match minutes in a wonderful position. Boris Holemans didn't get a good kick on the ball. Yvan Rauvoe made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Sergio De Groot in the 70th minute of play. Sergio De Groot received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 73rd minute. Yvan Rauvoe tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Wouter Decoster took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Stephen Van Eijcken, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Wouter Decoster showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Stephen Van Eijcken, who was totally free with the ball in the 78th minute. Kurt Van Hallebeeck sent away a hard shot on goal in the 79th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. When Sergio De Groot came up free with the goalie in the 82nd minute, the Sporting Lancer Evo fans jumped to their feet. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Sergio De Groot in the 89th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Yvan Rauvoe saved V zondereigen from getting behind. Chants of V zondereigen echoed around the stadium as the match drew to a close. Supporters and players were both delighted with the win, as Sporting Lancer Evo had held the ball for most of the match.
