Henri-Patrick Daneels started the match with the kick off. Black Crusaders's Jonathan Decaluwe proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 4th minute of the match, managed to save Black Crusaders from getting a goal against them. Leopold Pellegrims received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 6th minute. Stan Vrijdag tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After a rather tough play, Meirreyt's Conrad Van Crickinghe got a free kick in the 8th minute. In the 9th minute of the match Benjamin Pannekoek shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Stan Vrijdag showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. In the 12th minute the ball was on its way in behind Meirreyt's goalkeeper Stan Vrijdag, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Diederiek Gevaert blasted a shot towards the goal in the 15th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Stan Vrijdag having to make a save. 17 minutes into the match, Meirreyt's goal looked a bit too open when Leopold Pellegrims came free, but Stan Vrijdag reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Stan Vrijdag made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Leopold Pellegrims in the 19th minute of play. 24 minutes into the match, Black Crusaders's Leopold Pellegrims sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Stan Vrijdag narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Jonathan Decaluwe made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Henri-Patrick Daneels in the 30th minute of play. Jonathan Decaluwe showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Henri-Patrick Daneels, who was totally free with the ball in the 35th minute. The supporters of Meirreyt booed when Black Crusaders was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 35 match minutes in a wonderful position. Pieter-Maarten Van Eersel didn't get a good kick on the ball. The audience thought a goal was coming when Peter-Jan Van Aertvinck got free with Jonathan Decaluwe in the 37th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Diederiek Gevaert sent away a hard shot on goal in the 38th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 45 minutes into the match, Black Crusaders's goal looked a bit too open when Henri-Patrick Daneels came free, but Jonathan Decaluwe reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Leopold Pellegrims to strike the kick off in the second half. If Diederiek Gevaert had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 54th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 59th minute, Meirreyt's goalie took a deep sigh of relief after Diederiek Gevaert fired away a hard shot that went just outside the left post. In the 61st minute Peter-Jan Van Aertvinck shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jonathan Decaluwe saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. If Peter-Jan Van Aertvinck had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 62nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When Meirreyt's Peter-Jan Van Aertvinck in the 70th minute got a chance for a shot 70th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Black Crusaders's goalie prevented a goal. Leopold Pellegrims received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 72nd minute. Henri-Patrick Daneels fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 77th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Jonathan Decaluwe having to interfere. Diederiek Gevaert charged in rather forcefully in the 84th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Diederiek Gevaert the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 84th minute, Diederiek Gevaert hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Mattias Rompen fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 89th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Jonathan Decaluwe having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by Henri-Patrick Daneels in the 90th minute of play forced Black Crusaders's goalkeeper Jonathan Decaluwe to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Peter-Jan Van Aertvinck fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 93rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Jonathan Decaluwe having to interfere. In the 97th minute, Peter-Jan Van Aertvinck got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The Meirreyt fans cheered their team off the field, for while Black Crusaders had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
