Spectators: 7563 (Terracing: 5673, Seating: 1739, VIP seats: 151) The field was rather wet after several days of rain when Nico Hemeleers took the kick off in the first half of the match. In the 4th minute of the match, Jacq Sterckmans got a very nice opportunity to score, but Kenney Heijligem was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. Gerard Spoelberch showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Octavian Styles, who was totally free with the ball in the 5th minute. After 10 minutes of play, FC Diest's Alexander Van Steen made it 1-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Kenney Heijligem was left in no man's land by his defense there! Bruno Hoes kicked well hit freekick during the 16th minute of the match. Nico Hemeleers recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 23rd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Jacq Sterckmans succeeded to score despite a near miss that spronge from right pole into the goal to 2-0 in the 28th playminute. In the 32nd minute, Jacq Sterckmans hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After 33 played minutes Brye got a freekick which was hit by Bruno Hoes. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Octavian Styles during the 34th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. 35 minutes into the match, FC Diest's Gunther Gressens broke free and took a long shot that unfortunately flew wide. A fine initiative that could have resulted in a goal. Bruno Hoes hit a great freekick 39 minutes into the match. Brye's goalkeeper couldn't reach when Nico Hemeleers 40 minutes into the game got a good kick on the ball which found its way into goal just inside left pole. 3-0. Nico Hemeleers struck a weak shot in the 43rd minute. Kenney Heijligem didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for FC Diest. In the 46th minute, Octavian Styles ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Gerard Spoelberch was frozen by the shot and now it was 3-1.

In the 52ndth minute of the game Nico Hemeleers who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Brye's Kenney Heijligem was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. In the 57th minute, Alexander Van Steen hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Kenney Heijligem showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Nico Hemeleers in the 60th minute of the match. Kenney Heijligem took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Jacq Sterckmans, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Brye's Octavian Styles got a good chance for a goal in the 96th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Brye's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
