Matt Van Mellart made an important save on a dangerous shot by Jacq Wolfdoncx in the 42nd minute. Matt Van Mellart showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Raymond Blomme, who was totally free with the ball in the 44th minute. F.C. De Stampers's Matt Van Mellart played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Raymond Blomme in the 46th minute of play. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 2-0 at half-time.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Bjorn Shamp to make the kick off. In the 70thth minute of the game Raymond Blomme who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but F.C. De Stampers's Matt Van Mellart was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. After 76 played minutes Fauvillers got a freekick which was hit by Ian Govaerts. A long shot from George Docx in the 77th minute of play was well struck, but Diederiek Van Achter made a really good save at the right post. When Philippe Ottevaere came up free with the goalie in the 79th minute, the Fauvillers fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Philippe Ottevaere couldn't finish the play. Jacq Wolfdoncx fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 90th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Matt Van Mellart having to interfere. Jacq Wolfdoncx took the ball and in the 93 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Matt Van Mellart. Matt Van Mellart dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 4-0. Raymond Blomme received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 98th minute. Matt Van Mellart tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere.
