AFC Avennes's Brend Loots played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Vic De Mesemaekre in the 30th minute of play. Noel Vandamme fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 31st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Brend Loots having to interfere. After 36 minutes, Andris De Ryck mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the AFC Avennes and the Harelbeke players grew even worse after the yellow card. Andris De Ryck kicked well hit freekick during the 36th minute of the match. In the 37thth minute of the game Vic De Mesemaekre who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but AFC Avennes's Brend Loots was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. 41 minutes into the game, Nils Roelands was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Harelbeke's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave AFC Avennes the free kick. Brend Loots made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Vic De Mesemaekre in the 44th minute of play. Vic De Mesemaekre sent away a hard shot on goal in the 46th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-2 lead.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Noel Vandamme to make the kick off. An unexpectedly hard shot by Edmond van Haghten in the 52nd minute of play forced Harelbeke's goalkeeper Luke Flocquier to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 53rd minute, Andris De Ryck made a precise shot to the right of Luke Flocquier. Harelbeke's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-2. The shot went wide which resulted in a goal kick for AFC Avennes. 75 minutes into the match, Noel Vandamme dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Brend Loots, 1-3. The supporters of AFC Avennes booed when Harelbeke was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 78 match minutes in a wonderful position. Gunter Heijlen didn't get a good kick on the ball. Andris De Ryck recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 79th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After having played for 83 minutes, Vic De Mesemaekre managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Harelbeke's supporters crossed their fingers, but Vic De Mesemaekre was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 86th minute, Edmond van Haghten got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Andris De Ryck received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 89th minute. Luke Flocquier tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 92nd minute, Edmond van Haghten got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal.
