Yanniek Verelst didn't get a good kick on the ball. After 5 minutes, Janes Van Hove mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Kruishoutem and the AFC Avennes players grew even worse after the yellow card. 7 minutes into the match, AFC Avennes's Edmond van Haghten sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Kasper Rix narrowly saved just below the crossbar. After a defensive mix-up in Kruishoutem's zone, Andris De Ryck stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Kasper Rix came out of the goal and Andris De Ryck tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Kasper Rix took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Edmond van Haghten, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 12 minutes into the match, Kruishoutem's goal looked a bit too open when Edmond van Haghten came free, but Kasper Rix reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 14th minute Andris De Ryck shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Kasper Rix saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. When Andris De Ryck came up free with the goalie in the 15th minute, the AFC Avennes fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Andris De Ryck couldn't finish the play. 18 minutes into the match, AFC Avennes's goalkeeper Brend Loots had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Yanniek Leenpoels. 19 minutes into the match, Andris De Ryck had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Kasper Rix. Kruishoutem's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Andris De Ryck was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-1. Yanniek Leenpoels might have been able to make a better finish in the 23rd minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Brend Loots. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Yanniek Leenpoels ran back to his position shaking his head. In the 26th minute of the match, Arnaud Dierickx sent away a good long shot that could have become a goal, but Brend Loots showed an example of his skillful tending and made the save just under the crossbar. After some fancy dribbling in the 28th minute, Edmond van Haghten managed to get in a good position for a shot. AFC Avennes's supporters rose to their feet, but Edmond van Haghten was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Kasper Rix breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Gabriel Velkeneers received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 32nd minute. Brend Loots tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After the first half AFC Avennes were leading 0-1. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Edmond van Haghten made a kick off. After a rather tough play, Kruishoutem's Janes Van Hove got a free kick in the 52nd minute. In the 53rd minute of the match Rein Schrevens sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Kasper Rix skillfully saved the ball. In the 55th minute, Yanniek Leenpoels got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. In the 63rd match minute, Kruishoutem was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Roderik Dekeyser to maneuver through the defense. The crowd rose to their feet as Edmond van Haghten kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Kasper Rix. That made the score 0-2 in the 67 minute of play. Andris De Ryck's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Kasper Rix read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 74th minute of play. 76 minutes into the match, Kruishoutem's goal looked a bit too open when Edmond van Haghten came free, but Kasper Rix reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Kasper Rix showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Edmond van Haghten in the 78th minute of the match. The supporters of AFC Avennes booed when Kruishoutem was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 79 match minutes in a wonderful position. Roderik Dekeyser didn't get a good kick on the ball. Yanniek Leenpoels recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 90th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Brend Loots didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Yanniek Leenpoels went, in the 93rd minute, to the upper right corner, 1-2 was the resulting score. When the final whistle was heard the away supporters stood up and showed their joy. AFC Avennes had managed to secure a win in what was a close match throughout.
