Though ot was a great shot Royal Club Gent's keeper Andre Demets was sill able to block leaving the score board unchanged. When the match had gone on for 30 minutes, Gregoire Sloeve put it in 2-0 from a short distance just to the right of Andre Demets. In the 34th minute, Erik-Jan Leenders got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Axell Van de Poel made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Leopold Jennes in the 42nd minute of play. Royal Club Gent's Tim Asselberghs got a good chance for a goal in the 45th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. The supporters of Royal Club Gent booed when Assebroek FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 46 match minutes in a wonderful position. Gilliam Lannoye didn't get a good kick on the ball. Af the end of the first half the score was 2-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Gregoire Sloeve was the one to do the kick off. Jorden Hemeleers received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 53rd minute. Andre Demets tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Gregoire Sloeve fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 55th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Andre Demets having to interfere. Erik-Jan Leenders fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 57th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Axell Van de Poel having to interfere. After 72 played minutes Royal Club Gent got a freekick which was hit by Arnauld Huysmans. 79 minutes into the game, Assebroek FC's Gilliam Lannoye nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Andre Demets made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 4-0. Ivan Vinck hit a great freekick 82 minutes into the match. Conrad Lejeune, 83 minutes into the match, dribbled the ball up the side of the field and decided to take a long shot at the goal. Unfortunately, the ball was poorly hit and landed closer to the corner than to the goal. After having played for 85 minutes, Gregoire Sloeve managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Assebroek FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Gregoire Sloeve was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Jorden Hemeleers struck a weak shot in the 87th minute. Andre Demets didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Assebroek FC. Andre Demets took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Gilliam Lannoye, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Andre Demets made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Jorden Hemeleers in the 96th minute of play. Assebroek FC walked away with a well-earned victory that was much celebrated by the crowd.
