Maxime Decorte made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Karel-Jan Van Haght in the 22nd minute of play. Karel-Jan Van Haght received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 26th minute. Maxime Decorte tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 28 minutes into the game, Karel-Jan Van Haght was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. The audience was convinced that Karel-Jan Van Haght's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Maxime Decorte was relentless in the 31st minute of the game. After having played for 32 minutes, Daniel Van Den Abeele managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. After a defensive mix-up in Kawitras's zone, Daniel Van Den Abeele stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Maxime Decorte came out of the goal and Daniel Van Den Abeele tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. When Bertan Van Der Linden fell near the penalty area in the 39th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Kawitras's protests and gave Bertan Van Der Linden a yellow card for diving instead. In the 41st minute Karel-Jan Van Haght shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Maxime Decorte saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 45 minutes into the match, Kawitras's goalkeeper Maxime Decorte had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Daniel Van Den Abeele. 50 minutes into the match, Kawitras's goal looked a bit too open when Sebastian Uytterhoeven came free, but Maxime Decorte reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The first half was very even, with the score at 0-0 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Ryan Rutgeerts made a kick off. If Daniel Van Den Abeele had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 58th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. In the 64th minute of the match Claude Caes shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Maxime Decorte showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. The supporters of Zele booed when Kawitras was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 65 match minutes in a wonderful position. Franky Van Dijcke didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 66th minute Daniel Van Den Abeele shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Maxime Decorte saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After a rather tough play, Zele's Daniel Van Den Abeele got a free kick in the 88th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Karel-Jan Van Haght in the 92nd minute of play forced Kawitras's goalkeeper Maxime Decorte to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball.
