Spectators: 7570 (Terracing: 5679, Seating: 1740, VIP seats: 151) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Frits Wirinckx started the match with the kick off. 3 minutes into the match, Walter Netels dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Quentin Klopterop, 1-0. Erwin Leclerq's late challenge caught a Club MichÆl's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Erwin Leclerq helped the player get up and apologised. After 9 played minutes The Green Tigers got a freekick which was hit by Erwin Leclerq. Frits Wirinckx scored 1-1 in the 10th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Rens Maes, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. In the 15th minute, The Green Tigers's Walter Netels ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Quentin Klopterop. Quentin Klopterop yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 2-1. An unexpectedly hard shot by Walter Netels in the 18th minute of play forced Club MichÆl's goalkeeper Quentin Klopterop to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. With a little luck, Club MichÆl's Quentin Klopterop got control of the ball when Jamie Ingelborgh tried to sneak it across the goal line. Jerry Declercq kicked well hit freekick during the 30th minute of the match. 31 minutes into the game, Jamie Ingelborgh was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. The Green Tigers's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Club MichÆl the free kick. An unexpectedly hard shot by Walter Netels in the 34th minute of play forced Club MichÆl's goalkeeper Quentin Klopterop to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After a defensive mix-up in The Green Tigers's zone, Frits Wirinckx stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Rens Maes came out of the goal and Frits Wirinckx tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. If Frits Wirinckx had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 39th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The Green Tigers's Rens Maes played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Waut De Boel in the 43rd minute of play. 46 minutes into the match, Marnix Pelsers notched a goal, 3-1, to the right of Club MichÆl's Quentin Klopterop. Quentin Klopterop was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Walter Netels stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Frits Wirinckx could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 53rd minute of the match, but Rens Maes made a huge save. Walter Netels fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 60th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Quentin Klopterop having to interfere. The audience was convinced that Walter Netels's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Quentin Klopterop was relentless in the 62nd minute of the game. Quentin Klopterop showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Walter Netels, who was totally free with the ball in the 66th minute. In the 70th minute of the match Jerry Declercq shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Quentin Klopterop showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. After 75 minutes, Walter Netels made it 5-1 with a short kick to the right side. Club MichÆl's Quentin Klopterop tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. 78 minutes into the match, Club MichÆl's Adolf De Swert sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Rens Maes narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Adolf De Swert recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 80th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 94th minute Regis Scheppers shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Quentin Klopterop saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. If Frits Wirinckx had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 96th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The The Green Tigers support was delighted with a win in a match that could easily have ended differently.
