After 21 played minutes Goetegem got a freekick which was hit by Edwin Adriens. Waut De Boel charged in rather forcefully in the 22nd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Waut De Boel the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Waut De Boel kicked well hit freekick during the 22nd minute of the match. Raymond Sannen showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Adolf De Swert in the 28th minute of the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Edmond Gielens in the 30th minute of play forced Club MichÆl's goalkeeper Quentin Klopterop to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Quentin Klopterop made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Edmond Gielens in the 31st minute of play. Goetegem's manager could be seen on the sidelines shaking his head and muttering to himself as his team had just wasted another chance. The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Edmond Gielens was the one to do the kick off. Goetegem's supporters crossed their fingers, but Vicente Van Achter was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Quentin Klopterop took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Edmond Gielens, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Quentin Klopterop didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Edmond Gielens went, in the 86th minute, to the upper right corner, 3-0 was the resulting score. Adolf De Swert might have been able to make a better finish in the 93rd minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Raymond Sannen. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Adolf De Swert ran back to his position shaking his head. If Adolf De Swert had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 97th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. The home crowd let out a huge roar when the referee blew for the end of the game. Goetegem were victorious despite being under pressure from Club MichÆl for much of the match.
