The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Af the end of the first half the score was 1-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

55 minutes into the game, Joris Vanden Berghe was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Engelbeek's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave The Green Tigers the free kick. After 55 played minutes Engelbeek got a freekick which was hit by Joris Vanden Berghe. Walter Netels received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 56th minute. Waud Bossuyt tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Wes Van Laeck recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 60th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Waud Bossuyt took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Jamie Ingelborgh, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. An unexpectedly hard shot by Walter Netels in the 64th minute of play forced Engelbeek's goalkeeper Waud Bossuyt to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Many of Engelbeek's supporters were seen to leave the ground early as it became clear their team was going to lose. Engelbeek may have spent more time on the ball, but The Green Tigers were more willing to take their chances and they walked away with the win.
