Marco Bal fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 15th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Pieter-Jan Van Acker having to interfere. In the 16th match minute, Vielsalm was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Giovanni Van Campenhout to maneuver through the defense. If Erik-Jan De Mayer had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 17th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Guy Wijnrijx sent away a hard shot on goal in the 21st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 23rd match minute, Zemst was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Brecht De Messemaecker to maneuver through the defense. Marc Herremans received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 30th minute. Steven Van Geel tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Steven Van Geel showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Marc Herremans in the 32nd minute of the match. 32 minutes into the match, Marc Herremans notched a goal, 1-0, to the right of Zemst's Steven Van Geel. Steven Van Geel was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Guy Wijnrijx's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Steven Van Geel read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 38th minute of play. With a little luck, Zemst's Steven Van Geel got control of the ball when Guy Wijnrijx tried to sneak it across the goal line. Pieter-Jan Van Acker made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Erik-Jan De Mayer in the 42nd minute of play. When Jacob Roels came up free with the goalie in the 44th minute, the Vielsalm fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Jacob Roels couldn't finish the play. 47 minutes into the match, Zemst's goal looked a bit too open when Marc Herremans came free, but Steven Van Geel reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 1-0 at half-time.
The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Marc Herremans stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Guy Wijnrijx fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 52nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Steven Van Geel having to interfere. Pieter-Jan Van Acker didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Zemst. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Marc Herremans in the 69th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Steven Van Geel prevented the ball from getting in the gole. If Marco Bal had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 74th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Marc Herremans sent away a hard shot on goal in the 77th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After having played for 78 minutes, Guy Wijnrijx managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Vielsalm's supporters crossed their fingers, but Guy Wijnrijx was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. After a defensive mix-up in Zemst's zone, Marc Herremans stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Steven Van Geel came out of the goal and Marc Herremans tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. When Vielsalm's Guy Wijnrijx in the 82nd minute got a chance for a shot 82nd didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Zemst's goalie prevented a goal. In the 84th minute, Guy Wijnrijx got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Marco Bal fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 89th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Pieter-Jan Van Acker having to interfere. When the referee ended the match the Vielsalm players were able to celebrate. They had won a fair victory and recieved the ovations of their fans.
