Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Miguel Dekeyser started the match with the kick off. Henk Buelens struck a weak shot in the 5th minute. Harrie Anthonis didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for SK Oteppe. After a defensive mix-up in KV Lanaken's zone, Claus Van Acker stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Harrie Anthonis came out of the goal and Claus Van Acker tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 8th minute, SK Oteppe's Claus Van Acker ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Harrie Anthonis. Harrie Anthonis yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 1-0. After 11 played minutes KV Lanaken got a freekick which was hit by Stephen Mouton. If Henk Buelens had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 13th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. KV Lanaken's defense didn't have a chance, in the 14th minute, when Claus Van Acker scored to the left of an out of position Harrie Anthonis, making the score, 2-0. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Benedict Landewijck in the 24th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Christian Rummens prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Claus Van Acker fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 26th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Harrie Anthonis having to interfere. In the 29th minute, SK Oteppe's Claus Van Acker dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 3-1. If Claus Van Acker had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 33rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 34th match minute, KV Lanaken was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Jerom Van Den Haecke to maneuver through the defense. Harrie Anthonis showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Claus Van Acker, who was totally free with the ball in the 36th minute. The audience was convinced that Claus Van Acker's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Harrie Anthonis was relentless in the 39th minute of the game. Claus Van Acker might have been able to make a better finish in the 42nd minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Harrie Anthonis. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Claus Van Acker ran back to his position shaking his head. Harrie Anthonis made a fantastic save in the 45th minute, when Guust Van Meel sent off a good shot on target. In the 46th minute, Henk Buelens fired away a shot on goal. He put a little to much spin on the ball and sent it just wide of the right post. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 3-1.

Henk Buelens scored 4-1 in the 52nd match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Harrie Anthonis, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. After some fancy dribbling in the 55th minute, Miguel Dekeyser managed to get in a good position for a shot. KV Lanaken's supporters rose to their feet, but Miguel Dekeyser was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Christian Rummens breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Guust Van Meel kicked well hit freekick during the 56th minute of the match. 62 minutes into the match, SK Oteppe's Henk Buelens sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Harrie Anthonis narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Benedict Landewijck sent away a hard shot on goal in the 68th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. During the 71st minute of the match Jerom Van Den Haecke completely mistimed his tackle and brought down his opponent. The referee gave Jerom Van Den Haecke a yellow card, his second in the match, which meant he could no longer take part in the game. The supporters of SK Oteppe booed when KV Lanaken was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 72 match minutes in a wonderful position. Jerom Van Den Haecke didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 73rd minute, Simon Van Calster sent off a long shot on goal, but the shot was nowhere near the goal and KV Lanaken's Harrie Anthonis didn't even have to move. Harrie Anthonis took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Henk Buelens, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Guust Van Meel succeeded in the game's 81st minute to shoot an unreachable shot under the crossbar and scored - 5-1. Henk Buelens recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 92nd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. 96 minutes into the match, SK Oteppe's goalkeeper Christian Rummens had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Benedict Landewijck. SK Oteppe's supporters were delighted with their team's performance and swarmed onto the pitch at the end of the match to celebrate the victory with the players.
