In the 8th minute, Renzo De Maijer hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Axell De Wit during the 9th minute. Red Hot Chili Devils's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave HO Wolvertem-Merchtem the free kick. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 14th minute of the game. One of Red Hot Chili Devils:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of HO Wolvertem-Merchtem:s goal. When the match had been going on for 16 minutes, HO Wolvertem-Merchtem's Maurice Reijckmans got an opportunity to shoot a penalty. He stayed cool and waited for the goalkeeper to move, before he confidently shot the ball into the goal, to the left of Kobe Vissenakens. In the 22ndth minute of the game Glenn Uytdebroeck who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Red Hot Chili Devils's Kobe Vissenakens was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. After 24 minutes, Dries Smidts mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Red Hot Chili Devils and the HO Wolvertem-Merchtem players grew even worse after the yellow card. Dries Smidts hit a great freekick 25 minutes into the match. Steff Van Boeckost showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Christiaan Jongbloedt, who was totally free with the ball in the 27th minute. Christiaan Jongbloedt scored 1-2 in the 39th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Steff Van Boeckost, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. In the 43rd minute, Patrick Martin got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. In the 44th minute Christiaan Jongbloedt shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Steff Van Boeckost saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Patrick Martin received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 46th minute. Steff Van Boeckost tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. If Patrick Martin had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 49th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Disappointed in the 1-2 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Patrick Martin was the one to do the kick off. Christiaan Jongbloedt succeeded to score despite a near miss that spronge from right pole into the goal to 1-3 in the 58th playminute. When the final whistle was heard the away supporters stood up and showed their joy. Red Hot Chili Devils had managed to secure a win in what was a close match throughout.
