The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Daan Van De Wijngaert might have been able to make a better finish in the 2nd minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Joris Andriesens. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Daan Van De Wijngaert ran back to his position shaking his head. Axell vrolix received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 6th minute. Frans De Wever tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Joris Andriesens took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Luke Van Aerschodt, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Axell vrolix in the 16th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Frans De Wever prevented the ball from getting in the gole. In the 21st minute Axell vrolix shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Frans De Wever saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The supporters of Germinal Beershot booed when SIDEMEN FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 23 match minutes in a wonderful position. Amaury Schooters didn't get a good kick on the ball. After a defensive mix-up in SIDEMEN FC's zone, Daan Van De Wijngaert stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Joris Andriesens came out of the goal and Daan Van De Wijngaert tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Frans De Wever made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Axell vrolix in the 44th minute of play. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 0-0 after a close first half.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Luke Van Aerschodt to make the kick off. Axell vrolix fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 52nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Frans De Wever having to interfere. Germinal Beershot's Frans De Wever proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 53rd minute of the match, managed to save Germinal Beershot from getting a goal against them. 54 minutes into the match, Germinal Beershot's goal looked a bit too open when Axell vrolix came free, but Frans De Wever reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 58th minute, Daan Van De Wijngaert got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Goffrey Van Der Straeten could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 59th minute of the match, but Frans De Wever made a huge save. Frans De Wever stood somewhat misplaced when Goffrey Van Der Straeten came free in front of goal and shot 0-1 to the left of him in the 61 minute. The supporters of Germinal Beershot booed when SIDEMEN FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 64 match minutes in a wonderful position. Berten Verhofstadt didn't get a good kick on the ball. After a defensive mix-up in Germinal Beershot's zone, Goffrey Van Der Straeten stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Frans De Wever came out of the goal and Goffrey Van Der Straeten tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After 73 played minutes SIDEMEN FC got a freekick which was hit by Tobias Van den Haute. Daan Van De Wijngaert received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 74th minute. Joris Andriesens tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Frans De Wever stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Goffrey Van Der Straeten's shot from short distance in the 82nd minute. SIDEMEN FC's Joris Andriesens played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Daan Van De Wijngaert in the 90th minute of play. In the 96th minute, Daan Van De Wijngaert got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. SIDEMEN FC's supporters were very happy and cheered loudly because their team had won after a very close match.
