Spectators: 6964 (Terracing: 5500, Seating: 1460, VIP seats: 4) In the 3rd match minute, Racing Genk was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Lars Aerts to maneuver through the defense. Erik Verlinden fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 6th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Guilian Vits having to interfere. Jimmy Van Deijck received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 9th minute. Guilian Vits tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Marten Schipmans kicked well hit freekick during the 12th minute of the match. After 13 played minutes, Racing Genk's George Deville shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Laurend Saelens came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Racing Genk reached it. In the game's 13th minute Racing Genk's George Deville took a hard shot from long distance, a kick which went into the net just to the right of Laurend Saelens and thus the score was 0-1. Guilian Vits took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Toon Neels, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. When Jimmy Van Deijck came up free with the goalie in the 19th minute, the BC grimbergen fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Jimmy Van Deijck couldn't finish the play. When Max Lanphan fell near the penalty area in the 22nd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Racing Genk's protests and gave Max Lanphan a yellow card for diving instead. After 22 played minutes Racing Genk got a freekick which was hit by Max Lanphan. Toon Neels fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 29th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Guilian Vits having to interfere. Racing Genk's Guilian Vits proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 32nd minute of the match, managed to save Racing Genk from getting a goal against them. After having played for 34 minutes, Basiel Van Leemput managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Racing Genk's supporters crossed their fingers, but Basiel Van Leemput was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. The audience was convinced that Lars Aerts's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Laurend Saelens was relentless in the 37th minute of the game. Basiel Van Leemput recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 43rd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Toon Neels was the one to do the kick off. 60 minutes into the game, Toon Neels was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. BC grimbergen's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Racing Genk the free kick. After 60 played minutes BC grimbergen got a freekick which was hit by Toon Neels. Toon Neels received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 63rd minute. Guilian Vits tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Guilian Vits showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Jimmy Van Deijck in the 65th minute of the match. After a rather tough play, Racing Genk's Matteo Spoelberch got a free kick in the 78th minute. Marten Schipmans hit a great freekick 81 minutes into the match. In the 82nd minute of the match George Deville sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Laurend Saelens skillfully saved the ball. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Lars Aerts in the 84th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Laurend Saelens saved BC grimbergen from getting behind. After a rather tough play, BC grimbergen's Geoffry Soens got a free kick in the 88th minute. If Jimmy Van Deijck had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 91st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Racing Genk's Guilian Vits played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Toon Neels in the 94th minute of play. Lars Aerts sent away a hard shot on goal in the 99th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. When the referee blew the final whistle jeers and boos were heard from the home team's supporters. They were angered to see BC grimbergen lose a match they had controlled from the kick-off.
