Spectators: 6726 (Terracing: 5000, Seating: 1726, VIP seats: 0) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Roger Van Geertruyden started the match with the kick off. In the 2nd minute, Jerry de Pelsmacker hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The audience was convinced that Roger Van Geertruyden's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Quentin Struyf was relentless in the 6th minute of the game. In the 8th minute the ball was on its way in behind FC smokers's goalkeeper Quentin Struyf, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. When Pieter-Maarten Van Der Eyde fell near the penalty area in the 12th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored AC Wetteren's protests and gave Pieter-Maarten Van Der Eyde a yellow card for diving instead. The supporters of FC smokers booed when AC Wetteren was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 12 match minutes in a wonderful position. Pieter-Maarten Van Der Eyde didn't get a good kick on the ball. After some fancy dribbling in the 16th minute, Conrad Van Nel managed to get in a good position for a shot. FC smokers's supporters rose to their feet, but Conrad Van Nel was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Jo Servrancx breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 19th minute, Robbin De Pauw left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The AC Wetteren fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-0. When Roger Van Geertruyden came up free with the goalie in the 22nd minute, the AC Wetteren fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Roger Van Geertruyden couldn't finish the play. After 23 minutes, Roger Van Geertruyden mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the AC Wetteren and the FC smokers players grew even worse after the yellow card. A collision led to AC Wetteren getting a freekick after 23 minutes play. Roger Van Geertruyden hit a great ball. Robbin De Pauw could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 27th minute of the match, but Quentin Struyf made a huge save. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Conrad Van Nel in the 35th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Jo Servrancx saved AC Wetteren from getting behind. Bart-Jan Goddez sent away a hard shot on goal in the 45th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 48 minutes into the game, Bart-Jan Goddez was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. FC smokers's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave AC Wetteren the free kick. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 1-0.

The wind increased when Bart-Jan Goddez made the kick off in the second half. 56 minutes into the match, FC smokers's goal looked a bit too open when Roger Van Geertruyden came free, but Quentin Struyf reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 58 minutes into the match, Conrad Van Nel notched a goal, 1-1, to the right of AC Wetteren's Jo Servrancx. Jo Servrancx was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Quentin Struyf took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Robbin De Pauw, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Bart-Jan Goddez recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 63rd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After some fancy dribbling in the 69th minute, Robbin De Pauw managed to get in a good position for a shot. AC Wetteren's supporters rose to their feet, but Robbin De Pauw was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Quentin Struyf breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. After 74 played minutes Bart-Jan Goddez rounded AC Wetteren's defense and shot a beautiful shot into goal via left pole - 1-2. FC smokers's Quentin Struyf played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Roger Van Geertruyden in the 81st minute of play. If Robbin De Pauw had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 85th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After a rather tough play, FC smokers's Jacobus Van Eyken got a free kick in the 86th minute. Quentin Struyf showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Robbin De Pauw in the 87th minute of the match. Roger Van Geertruyden might have been able to make a better finish in the 89th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Quentin Struyf. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Roger Van Geertruyden ran back to his position shaking his head. FC smokers's Quentin Struyf played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Roger Van Geertruyden in the 91st minute of play. Conrad Van Nels short, quick shot in the 93rdth minute got Jo Servrancx to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. In the 95th minute, FC smokers's Bart-Jan Goddez dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 1-3. When the match was over FC smokers could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than AC Wetteren throughout the match.
