Gill Van der Veeren took the ball and in the 5 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Quentin Struyf. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Gill Van der Veeren in the 8th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Quentin Struyf saved FC smokers from getting behind. An unexpectedly hard shot by Bart-Jan Goddez in the 10th minute of play forced SK Oombergen's goalkeeper Gilles Jannis to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. If Gill Van der Veeren had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 14th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After some fancy dribbling in the 18th minute, Gill Van der Veeren managed to get in a good position for a shot. SK Oombergen's supporters rose to their feet, but Gill Van der Veeren was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post.
