Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Gill Van der Veeren started the match with the kick off. FC Betelgeuse's defense didn't have a chance, in the 9th minute, when Marten Beaufort scored to the left of an out of position Oscar Deman, making the score, 1-0. If Gill Van der Veeren had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 18th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. After 20 minutes of play, SK Oombergen's Gill Van der Veeren made it 2-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Oscar Deman was left in no man's land by his defense there! After having played for 26 minutes, Gill Van der Veeren managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. SK Oombergen's supporters crossed their fingers, but Gill Van der Veeren was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. The supporters of SK Oombergen booed when FC Betelgeuse was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 28 match minutes in a wonderful position. Emiel Van Den Eynden didn't get a good kick on the ball. With his leg Oscar Deman managed to avoid a goal in the 29thth minute, when SK Oombergen's Gill Van der Veeren fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. Gilles Jannis made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Charl Le Lion in the 31st minute of play. SK Oombergen's Gilles Jannis played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Wim Maertens in the 33rd minute of play. Gill Van der Veeren could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 39th minute of the match, but Oscar Deman made a huge save. FC Betelgeuse's Oscar Deman proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 43rd minute of the match, managed to save FC Betelgeuse from getting a goal against them. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Charl Le Lion to make the kick off. In the 55th minute Gill Van der Veeren shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Oscar Deman saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The SK Oombergen fans' excitement grew in the 56th match minute when SK Oombergen's Gill Van der Veeren looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 3-0 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. SK Oombergen's goalkeeper couldn't reach when Charl Le Lion 60 minutes into the game got a good kick on the ball which found its way into goal just inside left pole. 3-1. A collision led to FC Betelgeuse getting a freekick after 62 minutes play. Emiel Van Den Eynden hit a great ball. Erik-Jan Schepmans hit a great freekick 81 minutes into the match. The crowd rose to their feet as FC Betelgeuse's Charl Le Lion slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Gilles Jannis. That made the score 3-2 after 82 minutes of play. Marten Beaufort recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 86th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. 88 minutes into the match, Gill Van der Veeren notched a goal, 4-2, to the right of FC Betelgeuse's Oscar Deman. Oscar Deman was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. In the 93rd minute, Wim Maertens hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. SK Oombergen's supporters were delighted with their team's performance and swarmed onto the pitch at the end of the match to celebrate the victory with the players.
