Spectators: 7506 (Terracing: 5745, Seating: 1761, VIP seats: 0) With an all-out effort, Club Letterhoutem's Lex De Maerschalckx threw himself towards the right post 3 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Fabrice Audenaert, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. In the 4th minute the ball was on its way in behind KV Malines's goalkeeper Lex De Maerschalckx, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. After a rather tough play, Club Letterhoutem's Marcus Van Der Meeren got a free kick in the 7th minute. Gert Roekeloos sent away a hard shot on goal in the 9th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Mark Vanneste sent away a hard shot on goal in the 12th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Arthur Van Arschot hit a great freekick 18 minutes into the match. If Mark Vanneste had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 20th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 28 minutes into the game, Willem-Jan Van de Gaer cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-1. Johnny Kestens was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Jan-Joost Conincx struck a weak shot in the 33rd minute. Johnny Kestens didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for KV Malines. Johnny Kestens made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Willem-Jan Van de Gaer in the 42nd minute of play. Kristiaan Landewijck kicked well hit freekick during the 48th minute of the match. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 2-1 at half-time.

Gert Roekeloos fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 57th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Johnny Kestens having to interfere. Gert Roekeloos could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 58th minute of the match, but Johnny Kestens made a huge save. With a little luck, Club Letterhoutem's Johnny Kestens got control of the ball when Gert Roekeloos tried to sneak it across the goal line. KV Malines's Lex De Maerschalckx played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Mark Vanneste in the 63rd minute of play. After a defensive mix-up in KV Malines's zone, Mark Vanneste stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Lex De Maerschalckx came out of the goal and Mark Vanneste tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After 66 played minutes KV Malines got a freekick which was hit by Gustave De Middeleer. In the 68th match minute, Club Letterhoutem was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Kasper Van Severen to maneuver through the defense. When Jan-Joost Conincx fell near the penalty area in the 69th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored KV Malines's protests and gave Jan-Joost Conincx a yellow card for diving instead. The supporters of Club Letterhoutem booed when KV Malines was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 69 match minutes in a wonderful position. Jan-Joost Conincx didn't get a good kick on the ball. Kasper Van Severen received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 71st minute. Lex De Maerschalckx tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Johnny Kestens took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Willem-Jan Van de Gaer, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In a very dangerous position, a player in Club Letterhoutem fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 76th minute. Penalty! In the 78th minute of the game, KV Malines got a penalty. The shot went straight in by the left post. KV Malines's Lex De Maerschalckx played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Kasper Van Severen in the 82nd minute of play. Johnny Kestens made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Willem-Jan Van de Gaer in the 87th minute of play. Mark Vanneste recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 88th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Lex De Maerschalckx showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Kasper Van Severen in the 90th minute of the match. KV Malines's Willem-Jan Van de Gaer was standing unmarked in front of the goal when he, in the 97th play minute, got the ball and easily drilled it into the goal. When the final whistle was heard the away supporters stood up and showed their joy. KV Malines had managed to secure a win in what was a close match throughout.
