The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Mattias Acke showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Julius De Meyer, who was totally free with the ball in the 4th minute. 16 minutes into the match, KFC Branchon's goalkeeper Pino Owerckx had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Qwinten Timmermans. An unexpectedly hard shot by Abel De Haes in the 20th minute of play forced VK Palmvelden's goalkeeper Mattias Acke to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Abel De Haes fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 22nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Mattias Acke having to interfere. After a rather tough play, VK Palmvelden's Andries Van Goethem got a free kick in the 25th minute. In the 26thth minute of the game Abel De Haes who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but VK Palmvelden's Mattias Acke was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Qwinten Timmermans could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 32nd minute of the match, but Pino Owerckx made a huge save. VK Palmvelden's Mattias Acke played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Julius De Meyer in the 35th minute of play. In the 36th minute, Abel De Haes ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Mattias Acke was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-2. 40 minutes into the match, VK Palmvelden's goal looked a bit too open when Julius De Meyer came free, but Mattias Acke reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Mattias Acke didn't succeed to prevent the ball from going into goal when KFC Branchon's Julius De Meyer shot an unexpected shot in the crossbar's under edge and made 0-3 in the ordered_time% minute. After the first half KFC Branchon were leading 0-3. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The corner led VK Palmvelden's Luuk Scheppers to fire away a dangerous shot which Pino Owerckx despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. Julius De Meyer received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 57th minute. Mattias Acke tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. VK Palmvelden's Mattias Acke played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Julius De Meyer in the 63rd minute of play. Qwinten Timmermans received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 65th minute. Pino Owerckx tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 69 minutes into the match, KFC Branchon's goal looked a bit too open when Qwinten Timmermans came free, but Pino Owerckx reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Abel De Haes's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Mattias Acke read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 72nd minute of play. After 73 played minutes VK Palmvelden got a freekick which was hit by Andries Van Goethem. With his leg Mattias Acke managed to avoid a goal in the 74thth minute, when KFC Branchon's Abel De Haes fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. Abel De Haes who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 76thth minute tested the skills of Mattias Acke when he managed to save the team from getting behind. 79 minutes into the match, Julius De Meyer dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Mattias Acke, 0-4. Julius De Meyer had several of the VK Palmvelden's defenders around him in the penalty area when he, after 86 minutes of play, received a pass and succeeded in some way to shoot a shot which went straight ahead into goal. This resulted in a 0-5 score and a disappointed Mattias Acke as he didn't even see the shot coming. Kristen Goegebeur hit a great freekick 89 minutes into the match. If Julius De Meyer had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 93rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The KFC Branchon players were relieved to hear the final whistle blow to end the match. The away crowd was happy to see their team win after a very tight game.
