Yanick Van den Driesch charged in rather forcefully in the 28th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Yanick Van den Driesch the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 33rd match minute, AFC De Haan was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Marco Vereect to maneuver through the defense. In the 35th minute Alex Van Hoght shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Andreas Van Beringen saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 36th minute, Thomas Boumans hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 39 minutes into the game, one of Ipsvoorde:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. After 43 minutes, Sven Render mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Ipsvoorde and the AFC De Haan players grew even worse after the yellow card. Alex Van Hoght struck a weak shot in the 47th minute. Andreas Van Beringen didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for AFC De Haan. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 1-0.

The wind increased when Pieterjan Berrewouts made the kick off in the second half. After some careless play in the AFC De Haan defense, Pieterjan Berrewouts kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Sam Van der Vloedt. The AFC De Haan fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Sam Van der Vloedt should have stopped the shot. After 59 played minutes Ipsvoorde got a freekick which was hit by Ruben Sellekaerts. Chris-George Laureys fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 60th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Andreas Van Beringen having to interfere. Andreas Van Beringen showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Chris-George Laureys in the 63rd minute of the match. AFC De Haan's supporters crossed their fingers, but Alex Van Hoght was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal.
