With an extended leg and a bit of luck Richey Verheecke prevented the ball from getting in the gole. The Wiez-Team's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Arne Leemans in the 22nd minute. Arne Leemans made a great header on The Wiez-Team's corner, it was just that Zerkegem's Richey Verheecke managed to reach the ball for a save. Senne Knockaert could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 32nd minute of the match, but Marco Morreels made a huge save. When Henri Baekelandt fell near the penalty area in the 37th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored The Wiez-Team's protests and gave Henri Baekelandt a yellow card for diving instead. Marco Morreels took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Senne Knockaert, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 61st minute, The Wiez-Team's Manuel Langendonck dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 1-1. Charles Roose fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 65th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Richey Verheecke having to interfere. Richey Verheecke made a fantastic save in the 67th minute, when Raymond Laureijs sent off a good shot on target. Zerkegem's Richey Verheecke played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Charles Roose in the 71st minute of play. In the 72nd minute, Arne Leemans hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. When Reinard Sustens fell near the penalty area in the 77th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Zerkegem's protests and gave Reinard Sustens a yellow card for diving instead. In the 77th match minute, Zerkegem was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Reinard Sustens to maneuver through the defense. After a defensive mix-up in Zerkegem's zone, Raymond Laureijs stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Richey Verheecke came out of the goal and Raymond Laureijs tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Henri Baekelandt blasted a shot towards the goal in the 91st minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Richey Verheecke having to make a save. When Henri Baekelandt came up free with the goalie in the 91st minute, the The Wiez-Team fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Henri Baekelandt couldn't finish the play. Raymond Laureijs received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 93rd minute. Richey Verheecke tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Raymond Laureijs struck a weak shot in the 97th minute. Richey Verheecke didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for The Wiez-Team. When the match was over The Wiez-Team could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than Zerkegem throughout the match.
