The crowd rose to their feet as Club brugge's Xander Verlinden slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Pieter-Jan De Vaddere. That made the score 1-0 after 28 minutes of play. After 32 minutes of play, Vezon's Ernest Declerck made it 1-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Mathias Van Gele was left in no man's land by his defense there! 41 minutes into the match, Vezon's goal looked a bit too open when Xander Verlinden came free, but Pieter-Jan De Vaddere reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

59 minutes into the match, Club brugge's goalkeeper Mathias Van Gele had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Ernest Declerck. 61 minutes into the game, one of Club brugge:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. Pieter-Jan De Vaddere showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Willy Quintens in the 66th minute of the match. The audience thought a goal was coming when Ernest Declerck got free with Mathias Van Gele in the 74th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Willy Quintens's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Pieter-Jan De Vaddere read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 76th minute of play. Pieter-Jan De Vaddere made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Willy Quintens in the 80th minute of play. If Ernest Declerck had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 81st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After 83 played minutes Vezon got a freekick which was hit by Jochen Braeckman. When Jochen Braeckman came up free with the goalie in the 88th minute, the Vezon fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Jochen Braeckman couldn't finish the play. Mathias Van Gele made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Jochen Braeckman in the 94th minute of play. After 95 minutes, Joery Van Gijsel mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Club brugge and the Vezon players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 95th match minute, Club brugge was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Joery Van Gijsel to maneuver through the defense. Ernest Declerck blasted a shot towards the goal in the 97th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Mathias Van Gele having to make a save. If Jochen Braeckman had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 98th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The Club brugge supporters were disappointed that their team didn't take anything from the match, despite matching Vezon's performance. The match ended with a win for Vezon.
