Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) It was fairly windy and cold on the field when Xander Verlinden kicked off to start the match. Jannes Vissenaekens showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Willy Quintens in the 5th minute of the match. After some fancy dribbling in the 6th minute, Herman Swin managed to get in a good position for a shot. K. Sint-Truiden V.V.'s supporters rose to their feet, but Herman Swin was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Mathias Van Gele breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Mathias Van Gele stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Jacob Ceroux's shot from short distance in the 11th minute. After 14 minutes of play, Club brugge's Willy Quintens made it 0-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Jannes Vissenaekens was left in no man's land by his defense there! Jannes Vissenaekens made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Willy Quintens in the 17th minute of play. Jannes Vissenaekens didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Herbert Smeulders went, in the 19th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-2 was the resulting score. In the 23rdth minute of the game Willy Quintens who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but K. Sint-Truiden V.V.'s Jannes Vissenaekens was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. 28 minutes into the game, Xander Verlinden cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-3. Jannes Vissenaekens was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. After a defensive mix-up in K. Sint-Truiden V.V.'s zone, Willy Quintens stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Jannes Vissenaekens came out of the goal and Willy Quintens tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Jacob Ceroux struck a weak shot in the 35th minute. Mathias Van Gele didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for K. Sint-Truiden V.V.. Jacob Ceroux received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 38th minute. Mathias Van Gele tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 40th match minute, K. Sint-Truiden V.V. was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Herman Swin to maneuver through the defense. Mathias Van Gele took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Herman Swin, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Jacob Ceroux to make the kick off. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Xander Verlinden in the 55th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Jannes Vissenaekens prevented the ball from getting in the gole. When Willy Quintens came up free with the goalie in the 57th minute, the Club brugge fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Willy Quintens couldn't finish the play. Xander Verlinden fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 60th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Jannes Vissenaekens having to interfere. In the 65th minute the ball was on its way in behind K. Sint-Truiden V.V.'s goalkeeper Jannes Vissenaekens, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar.
