With an extended leg and a bit of luck Gust Van Hinnendael prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Fabrice Goolen sent away a hard shot on goal in the 36th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. With an all-out effort, DF De Haerne Club's Timmy Moons threw himself towards the right post 44 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Yanis Verdonk, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. In the 46th minute, Fabrice Goolen got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Disappointed in the 0-1 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

The wind increased when Fabrice Goolen made the kick off in the second half. If Yanis Verdonk had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 57th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead.
