To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. 5 minutes into the match, FC SKALPEL's goal looked a bit too open when Adolf Spoelberghe came free, but Remie Van Beylen reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Christoff Coopmans received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 7th minute. Christoff Van Meerbeec tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Nicolaas Smoors charged in rather forcefully in the 14th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Nicolaas Smoors the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Gert-Jan Van Laer, 16 minutes into the match, dribbled the ball up the side of the field and decided to take a long shot at the goal. Unfortunately, the ball was poorly hit and landed closer to the corner than to the goal. Remie Van Beylen took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Daevy Pineurs, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Daevy Pineurs took the ball and in the 24 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Remie Van Beylen. Remie Van Beylen dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-1. 29 minutes into the match, Abeele's Daevy Pineurs sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Remie Van Beylen narrowly saved just below the crossbar. If Adolf Spoelberghe had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 32nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Diederick Lannoye hit a great freekick 34 minutes into the match. After having played for 39 minutes, Adolf Spoelberghe managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Abeele's supporters crossed their fingers, but Adolf Spoelberghe was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. The audience was convinced that Adolf Spoelberghe's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Remie Van Beylen was relentless in the 44th minute of the game. After having played for 46 minutes, Adolf Spoelberghe managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Abeele's supporters crossed their fingers, but Adolf Spoelberghe was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-1.

Abeele's Christoff Van Meerbeec played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Yoachim Eekhout in the 57th minute of play. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Yoachim Eekhout couldn't finish the play. The away crowd were delighted with the way their team had played and cheered loudly when the final whistle sounded. Abeele walked away with the win, even though the match was close until the end.
