Spectators: 7468 (Terracing: 5639, Seating: 1729, VIP seats: 100) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Alphonse Meeuwissen started the match with the kick off. In the 3rd minute, Robin Dhondt made a precise shot to the right of Ian Verheyden. Lobbes's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-1. A collision led to Lobbes getting a freekick after 6 minutes play. Jarne Adriens hit a great ball. In the 7th minute, Roel Stuckers got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. kfc meulebeke's Tommy Van der Sande played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Alphonse Meeuwissen in the 10th minute of play. Andrez Jannes took the ball and in the 12 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Tommy Van der Sande. Tommy Van der Sande dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-1. Roel Stuckers took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 18th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Ian Verheyden. Lobbes's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. After having played for 21 minutes, Ron De Weerdt managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. kfc meulebeke's supporters crossed their fingers, but Ron De Weerdt was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 22nd minute of the game. One of Lobbes:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of kfc meulebeke:s goal. Lobbes:s Ian Verheyden showed great skill when he stopped Roel Stuckers:s penalty. In the 48th minute Robin Dhondt shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Ian Verheyden saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The score stood at 1-1 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Robin Dhondt made a kick off. When Ron De Weerdt came up free with the goalie in the 52nd minute, the kfc meulebeke fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Ron De Weerdt couldn't finish the play. If Ron De Weerdt had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 55th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 62ndth minute of the game Alphonse Meeuwissen who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but kfc meulebeke's Tommy Van der Sande was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. An unexpected shot in the 63rd minute by Ron De Weerdt got the crowd on their feet, but to their dismay it went out on the left side. Ian Verheyden made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Robin Dhondt in the 67th minute of play. In the 69th minute of the match Roel Stuckers shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Ian Verheyden showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. 70 minutes into the game, Thys Huyterhoeven was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Lobbes's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave kfc meulebeke the free kick. If Ron De Weerdt had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 72nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. An unexpectedly hard shot by Robin Dhondt in the 77th minute of play forced Lobbes's goalkeeper Ian Verheyden to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Luuk Van Boeckost during the 78th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. A collision led to Lobbes getting a freekick after 78 minutes play. Luuk Van Boeckost hit a great ball. Ian Verheyden showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Robin Dhondt, who was totally free with the ball in the 81st minute. Ron De Weerdt struck a weak shot in the 88th minute. Ian Verheyden didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for kfc meulebeke. When Kamiel Winnepenninckx fell near the penalty area in the 93rd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored kfc meulebeke's protests and gave Kamiel Winnepenninckx a yellow card for diving instead. Andrez Jannes received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 94th minute. Tommy Van der Sande tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. kfc meulebeke played a much better game than Lobbes and deserved their victory. The Lobbes players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
