A wasted opportunity for KFC Forges. 12 minutes into the match, FC Nieuwpoort's goalkeeper Franky Ceustermans had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Bavo Pulix. An unexpectedly hard shot by Gunter Van Haerschot in the 14th minute of play forced KFC Forges's goalkeeper Kim Meynen to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Jaques Goons fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 15th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Kim Meynen having to interfere. The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Gunter Van Haerschot was the one to do the kick off. Gunter Van Haerschot sent away a hard shot on goal in the 53rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After 54 played minutes KFC Forges got a freekick which was hit by Joel Turpin. Kim Meynen made a fantastic save in the 62nd minute, when Jaques Goons sent off a good shot on target. Gunter Van Haerschot recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 63rd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Christoff Uytebroeck charged in rather forcefully in the 65th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Christoff Uytebroeck the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Bavo Pulix in the 68th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Franky Ceustermans saved FC Nieuwpoort from getting behind. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Bavo Pulix in the 72nd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Franky Ceustermans prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Oliver Goemyne hit a great freekick 74 minutes into the match. In the 80th minute, Sebbe Salms made a precise shot to the right of Franky Ceustermans. FC Nieuwpoort's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-1. After 91 played minutes FC Nieuwpoort got a freekick which was hit by Jaques Goons. Bavo Pulix received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 95th minute. Franky Ceustermans tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Franky Ceustermans took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Sebbe Salms, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Christoff Uytebroeck was shown his second yellow card after 97 minutes, following a rather ugly tackle on opponent. That was the end of his participation in the match. After 98 played minutes FC Nieuwpoort got a freekick which was hit by Christoff Uytebroeck. The final whistle blew with the score still tied, and both teams left the pitch thinking about the missed chances that could have given their team the win.
