The audience was convinced that Andries Van Deinze's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Franky Ceustermans was relentless in the 15th minute of the game. Andries Van Deinze sent away a hard shot on goal in the 38th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Franky Ceustermans took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Ruben Volle, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 41st minute, Bartjan De Custer got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Andries Van Deinze in the 45th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Franky Ceustermans prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-1 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Andries Van Deinze stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Andries Van Deinze fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 82nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Franky Ceustermans having to interfere. Franky Ceustermans made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Andries Van Deinze in the 84th minute of play. In the 85th match minute, FC Nieuwpoort was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Christoff Uytebroeck to maneuver through the defense. If Andries Van Deinze had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 91st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Andries Van Deinze received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 96th minute. Franky Ceustermans tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Bossiere's fans were overjoyed with their teams well-earned victory and stayed in the stadium long after the final whistle to celebrate the win.
