Franky Ceustermans tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 7th minute Gery Bautmans shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Franky Ceustermans saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. When Gunter Van Haerschot came up free with the goalie in the 9th minute, the FC Nieuwpoort fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Gunter Van Haerschot couldn't finish the play. Etienne Daniels hit a great freekick 13 minutes into the match. Gery Bautmans received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 18th minute. Franky Ceustermans tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 24 minutes into the match, FC Nieuwpoort's goal looked a bit too open when Ronald Labrouche came free, but Franky Ceustermans reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 26th minute, Wouter Hunaerts hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Malempre's Miguel Wery played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Gunter Van Haerschot in the 28th minute of play. The supporters of FC Nieuwpoort booed when Malempre was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 28 match minutes in a wonderful position. Wouter Hunaerts didn't get a good kick on the ball. 30 minutes into the game, Gunter Van Haerschot recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Miguel Wery. Gunter Van Haerschot showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 2-0. 41 minutes into the match, Malempre's goalkeeper Miguel Wery had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Jaques Goons. In the 42nd minute, Ronald Labrouche got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After a defensive mix-up in FC Nieuwpoort's zone, Gery Bautmans stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Franky Ceustermans came out of the goal and Gery Bautmans tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. The supporters of Malempre booed when FC Nieuwpoort was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 47 match minutes in a wonderful position. Jorg Deschrijver didn't get a good kick on the ball.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Ronald Labrouche to strike the kick off in the second half. FC Nieuwpoort's Jaques Goons got a good chance for a goal in the 56th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. The supporters of FC Nieuwpoort booed when Malempre was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 57 match minutes in a wonderful position. Roderik Skouten didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 59th minute Gunter Van Haerschot shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Miguel Wery saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Jaques Goons in the 66th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Miguel Wery prevented the ball from getting in the gole. After 67 played minutes Malempre got a freekick which was hit by Roderik Skouten. Gunter Van Haerschot received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 69th minute. Miguel Wery tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 71 minutes into the game, Gunter Van Haerschot cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 4-0. Miguel Wery was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Gery Bautmans struck a weak shot in the 76th minute. Franky Ceustermans didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Malempre. When Christoff Uytebroeck fell near the penalty area in the 81st minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored FC Nieuwpoort's protests and gave Christoff Uytebroeck a yellow card for diving instead. A collision led to FC Nieuwpoort getting a freekick after 81 minutes play. Christoff Uytebroeck hit a great ball. Franky Ceustermans was in exellent shape and made a fantastic save when he, in the 82nd minute of the match, managed to get hold of the ball after a long shot from Kristiaan Vercammen. An unexpectedly hard shot by Gunter Van Haerschot in the 83rd minute of play forced Malempre's goalkeeper Miguel Wery to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Jaques Goons fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 86th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Miguel Wery having to interfere. Miguel Wery took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Jaques Goons, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. FC Nieuwpoort's Franky Ceustermans played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Ronald Labrouche in the 91st minute of play. Franky Ceustermans made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Ronald Labrouche in the 93rd minute of play. For all the effort they put into the match, the Malempre players left disappointed. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense. The match ended in a win for FC Nieuwpoort.
