When Hubert Gheysen came up free with the goalie in the 7th minute, the Schoonbroek fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Hubert Gheysen couldn't finish the play. Hubert Gheysen fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 9th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Kim Meynen having to interfere. Kim Meynen made a fantastic save in the 10th minute, when Franky Conincx sent off a good shot on target. After a defensive mix-up in Schoonbroek's zone, Sebbe Salms stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Jeremy Fraes came out of the goal and Sebbe Salms tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Franky Conincx fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 16th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Kim Meynen having to interfere. Hubert Gheysen sent away a hard shot on goal in the 18th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. KFC Forges's Kim Meynen played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Hubert Gheysen in the 22nd minute of play. After some careless play in the KFC Forges defense, Franky Conincx kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Kim Meynen. The KFC Forges fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Kim Meynen should have stopped the shot. 37 minutes into the match, KFC Forges's goal looked a bit too open when Hubert Gheysen came free, but Kim Meynen reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Hubert Gheysen fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 39th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Kim Meynen having to interfere. Franky Conincx's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 40thth minute, Kim Meynen skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. In the 45th minute, Hubert Gheysen got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After 46 played minutes KFC Forges got a freekick which was hit by Gabriel Spailer. KFC Forges's Kim Meynen proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 47th minute of the match, managed to save KFC Forges from getting a goal against them. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 2-0.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Hubert Gheysen stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Jeremy Fraes made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Sebbe Salms in the 52nd minute of play. If Bavo Pulix had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 55th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 56th minute, Willem Gressens hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. KFC Forges's Kim Meynen played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Franky Conincx in the 65th minute of play. In the 68thth minute of the game Franky Conincx who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but KFC Forges's Kim Meynen was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Kim Meynen showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Franky Conincx, who was totally free with the ball in the 73rd minute. In the 74th match minute, Schoonbroek was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Yoeri Vandommele to maneuver through the defense. Robbie Smedts hit a great freekick 75 minutes into the match.
