Clermont's Philippe Goovaerts suffered a sore thigh after 15 minutes and couldn't finish the game. 15 minutes into the game, Jonas Selleslags was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Havay's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Clermont the free kick. After 16 played minutes Havay got a freekick which was hit by Jonas Selleslags. After a defensive mix-up in Havay's zone, Pierre Hoeybroeck stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Bart Caers came out of the goal and Pierre Hoeybroeck tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Jamie Bosmans might have been able to make a better finish in the 33rd minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Bart Caers. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Jamie Bosmans ran back to his position shaking his head. Jan-Joost Van Der Straeten showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Antoine De Kelper in the 34th minute of the match. After 35 played minutes Havay got a freekick which was hit by Yanis Lambert. Jan-Joost Van Der Straeten took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Max Vissenaekens, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Jamie Bosmans sent away a hard shot on goal in the 41st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Ief Schipmans sent away a hard shot on goal in the 42nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Jamie Bosmans was really disappointed when he shot the ball just outside the right post instead of scoring a goal in the 46th minute. Clermont's manager could be seen on the sidelines shaking his head and muttering to himself as his team had just wasted another chance. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 1-1 after a close first half.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Dave Sterckx made a kick off. In a very dangerous position, a player in Clermont fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 53rd minute. Penalty! The goalkeeper, Jan-Joost Van Der Straeten, was totally fooled by Havay's Georges Wyns, who 55 minutes into the game made a penalty shot that went in on the goalkeeper's left side. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Jan-Joost Van Der Straeten made a fantastic save in the 66th minute, when Antoine De Kelper sent off a good shot on target. The referee felt a red card was in order, 67 minutes into the game, when Pierre Hoeybroeck put in a rough tackle. After 67 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Clermont! Georges Wyns placed the ball on the penalty spot and got himself ready to shoot. Post out! The audience held their breath when Nicolas Teunis in the 73rd minute of the game managed to trick the opponents defenses and fired away a shot outside the goal on the Bart Caers's left hand side. In the 76th minute of the match, Dave Sterckx tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Jan-Joost Van Der Straeten saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. 77 minutes into the game, Nicolas Teunis was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. In the 84th match minute, Havay was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Max Vissenaekens to maneuver through the defense. Jan-Joost Van Der Straeten made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Yanis Lambert in the 88th minute of play. The audience thought a goal was coming when Max Vissenaekens got free with Jan-Joost Van Der Straeten in the 97th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Thanks to some nice moves Antoine De Kelper could shoot a difficult shot in the 99th minute, which Jan-Joost Van Der Straeten however easily saved by the left post. The Clermont supporters were disappointed that their team didn't take anything from the match, despite matching Havay's performance. The match ended with a win for Havay.
