Spectators: 7493 (Terracing: 5621, Seating: 1723, VIP seats: 149) Marc Laporte started the match with the kick off in front of an excited audience. 3 minutes into the match, Overhespen's goal looked a bit too open when Gustave Meertens came free, but Fernand Langendonckx reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 5th minute, Gustave Meertens fired away a killer shot towards the goal that, to the delight of Fernand Langendonckx, passed just outside the right post. Overhespen's Fernand Langendonckx played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Gustave Meertens in the 7th minute of play. If Pieter-Jan Vinx had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 10th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After some fancy dribbling in the 12th minute, Pieter-Jan Vinx managed to get in a good position for a shot. Overhespen's supporters rose to their feet, but Pieter-Jan Vinx was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Maurus Koppens breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Alfons Kerkhove sent away a hard shot on goal in the 19th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 22nd minute Pieter-Jan Vinx shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Maurus Koppens saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Brend Kerselaers charged in rather forcefully in the 24th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Brend Kerselaers the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. The supporters of RS oostnieuwkerke booed when Overhespen was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 24 match minutes in a wonderful position. Brend Kerselaers didn't get a good kick on the ball. RS oostnieuwkerke's Maurus Koppens played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Marc Laporte in the 27th minute of play. Maurus Koppens made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Pieter-Jan Vinx in the 29th minute of play. Pieter-Jan Vinx received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 31st minute. Maurus Koppens tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 40 minutes into the match, RS oostnieuwkerke's goal looked a bit too open when Marc Laporte came free, but Maurus Koppens reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 42nd minute, Gustave Meertens reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Fernand Langendonckx. The goal made the score 1-0. Marc Laporte scored 1-1 in the 46th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Maurus Koppens, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Gustave Meertens made a kick off. In the 62nd minute, Overhespen's Marc Laporte ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Maurus Koppens. Maurus Koppens yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 2-2. After 65 minutes, Diedrik De Meijer mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the RS oostnieuwkerke and the Overhespen players grew even worse after the yellow card. The audience thought a goal was coming when Pieter-Jan Vinx got free with Maurus Koppens in the 67th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. After having played for 79 minutes, Gustave Meertens managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. RS oostnieuwkerke's supporters crossed their fingers, but Gustave Meertens was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Maurus Koppens took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Marc Laporte, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. If Pieter-Jan Vinx had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 84th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After having played for 87 minutes, Pieter-Jan Vinx managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Overhespen's supporters crossed their fingers, but Pieter-Jan Vinx was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. When Marc Laporte came up free with the goalie in the 94th minute, the Overhespen fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Marc Laporte couldn't finish the play. Marc Laporte recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 96th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After some fancy dribbling in the 97th minute, Marc Laporte managed to get in a good position for a shot. Overhespen's supporters rose to their feet, but Marc Laporte was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Maurus Koppens breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Neither set of supporters seemed pleased with the draw, but both teams had played equally well today.
