The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Bernard Klijnhens showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Mathias Van Hoeyvelt in the 7th minute of the match. VC Thuin's Bernard Klijnhens played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Johannes Petermans in the 11th minute of play. FC DE ZWAAN's Mathias Van Hoeyvelt got a good chance for a goal in the 17th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Gaetan Van Boeckost fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 20th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Hendrik-Jan Raemakers having to interfere. Johannes Petermans fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 26th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Bernard Klijnhens having to interfere. Mathias Van Hoeyvelt fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 30th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Bernard Klijnhens having to interfere. VC Thuin's Bernard Klijnhens played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Mathias Van Hoeyvelt in the 32nd minute of play. Stein Ballette fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 35th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Hendrik-Jan Raemakers having to interfere. After a defensive mix-up in FC DE ZWAAN's zone, Stein Ballette stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Hendrik-Jan Raemakers came out of the goal and Stein Ballette tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After some fancy dribbling in the 41st minute, Gaetan Van Boeckost managed to get in a good position for a shot. VC Thuin's supporters rose to their feet, but Gaetan Van Boeckost was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Hendrik-Jan Raemakers breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Harrie Van Hoyvelt sent away a hard shot on goal in the 43rd minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. In the 45th minute, Mathias Van Hoeyvelt got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 0-0 after a close first half.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Gaetan Van Boeckost to make the kick off. Hendrik-Jan Raemakers made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Stein Ballette in the 52nd minute of play. In the 56th minute of the match FC DE ZWAAN got a corner. VC Thuin's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Tommie De Winter ran over to the corner to take the kick. After taking down the ball on FC DE ZWAAN's corner Tommie De Winter fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Bernard Klijnhens quite easily take care of the ball. Victor Wiggers fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 59th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Hendrik-Jan Raemakers having to interfere. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Harrie Van Hoyvelt during the 60th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Harrie Van Hoyvelt kicked well hit freekick during the 60th minute of the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Joe Le Lion in the 63rd minute of play forced FC DE ZWAAN's goalkeeper Hendrik-Jan Raemakers to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 63rd minute, Vicente De Maret hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Stein Ballette sent away a hard shot on goal in the 66th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Gaetan Van Boeckost received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 67th minute. Hendrik-Jan Raemakers tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Stein Ballette sent away a hard shot on goal in the 69th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Hendrik-Jan Raemakers showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Gaetan Van Boeckost in the 76th minute of the match. If Johannes Petermans had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 79th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Mathias Van Hoeyvelt recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 80th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After a rather tough play, VC Thuin's Joe Le Lion got a free kick in the 81st minute. With a little luck, VC Thuin's Bernard Klijnhens got control of the ball when Mathias Van Hoeyvelt tried to sneak it across the goal line. 86 minutes into the match, VC Thuin's goal looked a bit too open when Johannes Petermans came free, but Bernard Klijnhens reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 91st minute, Johannes Petermans got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After some fancy dribbling in the 93rd minute, Johannes Petermans managed to get in a good position for a shot. FC DE ZWAAN's supporters rose to their feet, but Johannes Petermans was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Bernard Klijnhens breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. The supporters of FC DE ZWAAN booed when VC Thuin was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 96 match minutes in a wonderful position. Amaury Limpens didn't get a good kick on the ball. Bernard Klijnhens showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Johannes Petermans, who was totally free with the ball in the 98th minute. Both teams had looked equal from kick-off, and no-one was surprised when the match finally ended in a draw.
