Frank Abrams hit a great freekick 2 minutes into the match. Herve Heijligem who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 5thth minute tested the skills of Charl Lijsens when he managed to save the team from getting behind. After a defensive mix-up in Ac meloen's zone, Franky Vranckx stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Charl Lijsens came out of the goal and Franky Vranckx tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Herve Heijligem sent away a hard shot on goal in the 9th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. A collision led to Ac meloen getting a freekick after 12 minutes play. Frank Abrams hit a great ball. Charl Lijsens showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Herve Heijligem in the 21st minute of the match. SpaC AC's Rein Van Hinnendael pulled a muscle in his leg after 24 minutes and couldn't finish the game. The supporters of SpaC AC booed when Ac meloen was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 25 match minutes in a wonderful position. Andris Van Elsen didn't get a good kick on the ball. Charl Lijsens made an important save on a dangerous shot by Herve Heijligem in the 35th minute. After 36 played minutes Ac meloen got a freekick which was hit by Robben Beekman. Luuk Van Daelen received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 39th minute. Charl Lijsens tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. If Herve Heijligem had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 42nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 1-0.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Herve Heijligem to make the kick off. Herve Heijligem might have been able to make a better finish in the 54th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Charl Lijsens. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Herve Heijligem ran back to his position shaking his head. After a rather tough play, SpaC AC's Franky Vranckx got a free kick in the 58th minute. In the 66th minute Herve Heijligem shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Charl Lijsens saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Matthieu Van Boxstael hit a great freekick 68 minutes into the match. In the 72ndth minute of the game Herve Heijligem who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Ac meloen's Charl Lijsens was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Charl Lijsens showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Herve Heijligem, who was totally free with the ball in the 73rd minute. Luuk Van Daelen fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 76th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Charl Lijsens having to interfere. If Herve Heijligem had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 78th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Alexandre Van Houdtvinck took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 80th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Charl Lijsens. Ac meloen's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. Alexandre Van Houdtvinck hit a great freekick 82 minutes into the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Herve Heijligem in the 92nd minute of play forced Ac meloen's goalkeeper Charl Lijsens to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. SpaC AC walked away with a well-earned victory that was much celebrated by the crowd.
