Spectators: 7494 (Terracing: 5644, Seating: 1730, VIP seats: 120) Ac meloen's Giles Ceustermans started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. In the 4th minute, Andris Van Elsen hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Gaetan Van Boeckost recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 8th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Stein Ballette scored 0-1 in the 15th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Charl Lijsens, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. In the 24th minute of the match Charl Van Haght shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Charl Lijsens showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. After a rather tough play, Ac meloen's Robben Beekman got a free kick in the 28th minute. In the 29th minute of the match Charl Van Haght shot from a long distance. Ac meloen's Charl Lijsens played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Joe Le Lion in the 41st minute of play. Bernard Klijnhens showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Laurens De Coninck, who was totally free with the ball in the 43rd minute. In the 43rd minute, Alexander De Backer hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 45 minutes into the game, Gaetan Van Boeckost cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-2. Charl Lijsens was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-2 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Gaetan Van Boeckost made a kick off. After 50 played minutes Ac meloen got a freekick which was hit by Robben Beekman. The supporters of VC Thuin booed when Ac meloen was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 54 match minutes in a wonderful position. Robben Beekman didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 57th minute, Stein Ballette made a precise shot to the right of Charl Lijsens. Ac meloen's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-3. If Giles Ceustermans had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 62nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Charl Lijsens took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Gaetan Van Boeckost, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. If Stein Ballette had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 81st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Gaetan Van Boeckost received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 85th minute. Charl Lijsens tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. VC Thuin's Stein Ballette got a good chance for a goal in the 88th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 90th minute Gaetan Van Boeckost shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Charl Lijsens saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Charl Lijsens made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Gaetan Van Boeckost in the 92nd minute of play. VC Thuin's fans were overjoyed with their teams well-earned victory and stayed in the stadium long after the final whistle to celebrate the win.
