Spectators: 6831 (Terracing: 5000, Seating: 1831, VIP seats: 0) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Evert-Jan Vercasteren started the match with the kick off. David Volders didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Binjamin Libesoons went, in the 3rd minute, to the upper right corner, 0-1 was the resulting score. An unexpectedly hard shot by Binjamin Libesoons in the 9th minute of play forced Staak's goalkeeper David Volders to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Binjamin Libesoons recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 12th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. When the match clock showed 15 minutes, the score became 0-2 when Elias Vissenaekers sped through Staak's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of David Volders. In the 19th minute, Tony Van Beersel hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After some fancy dribbling in the 20th minute, Elias Vissenaekers managed to get in a good position for a shot. AFC Hoogdonk's supporters rose to their feet, but Elias Vissenaekers was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. David Volders breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Binjamin Libesoons's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but David Volders read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 24th minute of play. In the 27th minute, Louis Slabbaert hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. If Binjamin Libesoons had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 31st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 34 minutes into the match, Staak's goal looked a bit too open when Elias Vissenaekers came free, but David Volders reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Tony Van Beersel during the 38th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After 38 played minutes Staak got a freekick which was hit by Tony Van Beersel. AFC Hoogdonk's Elias Vissenaekers got a good chance for a goal in the 39th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 46th minute, Elias Vissenaekers ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. David Volders was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-3. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-3 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Elias Vissenaekers to make the kick off. 0-4 became the score in the 56th minute when Elias Vissenaekers elegantly shot the ball into goal just under the crossbar. Binjamin Libesoons sent away a hard shot on goal in the 59th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After 69 played minutes Staak got a freekick which was hit by Camiel Leroy. Yoeri Steenbeeck was probably a little too eager to shoot when he, in the 70th played minute, shot the ball from way out. The shot was hard, but the ball flew wide of the goal. When Binjamin Libesoons came up free with the goalie in the 71st minute, the AFC Hoogdonk fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Binjamin Libesoons couldn't finish the play. In the 74th minute Elias Vissenaekers shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but David Volders saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After 74 minutes of play Staak's Tony Van Beersel was too eager in his attempt to stop his opponent and brought him down. With that he got his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. A collision led to Staak getting a freekick after 75 minutes play. Tony Van Beersel hit a great ball. Binjamin Libesoons blasted a shot towards the goal in the 79th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without David Volders having to make a save. Elias Vissenaekers received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 81st minute. David Volders tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After having played for 88 minutes, Elias Vissenaekers managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. AFC Hoogdonk's supporters crossed their fingers, but Elias Vissenaekers was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal.
