Spectators: 8036 (Terracing: 6028, Seating: 1848, VIP seats: 160) It was fairly windy and cold on the field when Dany Van der Willeghem kicked off to start the match. Groove Athletic's Evert Visch played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Conrad Kerckmans in the 3rd minute of play. 7 minutes into the game, Yoeri Van Glabeeke was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Groove Athletic's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave KV Wanzele the free kick. When Paul Rix came up free with the goalie in the 17th minute, the KV Wanzele fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Paul Rix couldn't finish the play. Bart-Jan de Pelsmaker hit a great freekick 18 minutes into the match. In the 22nd minute, Conrad Kerckmans got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. In the 25th minute, Conrad Kerckmans hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Paul Rix fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 35th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Evert Visch having to interfere. Oswald Van Caels fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 40th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Evert Visch having to interfere. Dany Van der Willeghem kicked well hit freekick during the 43rd minute of the match. KV Wanzele's Bob Boegaert proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 47th minute of the match, managed to save KV Wanzele from getting a goal against them. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 0-0 after a close first half.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Oswald Van Caels to make the kick off. After 57 minutes of play, KV Wanzele's Paul Rix made it 0-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Evert Visch was left in no man's land by his defense there! Bart-Jan de Pelsmaker hit a great freekick 78 minutes into the match. In the 79th minute, Oswald Van Caels hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After having played for 82 minutes, Dany Van der Willeghem managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Groove Athletic's supporters crossed their fingers, but Dany Van der Willeghem was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. If Conrad Kerckmans had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 85th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When Michel Verheijd got free in front of the goal in the 87th minute he wasn't very focused and chipped the ball just over the goal. Evert Visch was delighted since he was out of position and the ball would have got in if it had gone under the crossbar. When the match was over KV Wanzele could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than Groove Athletic throughout the match.
