Spectators: 8048 (Terracing: 6037, Seating: 1851, VIP seats: 160) De Rudies's Carlos Keldermans started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. In the 3rd minute, Joannes Van Meerbeeck got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. When Ruud Van Den Eijnde fell near the penalty area in the 4th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored De Rudies's protests and gave Ruud Van Den Eijnde a yellow card for diving instead. In the 4th match minute, De Rudies was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Ruud Van Den Eijnde to maneuver through the defense. An unexpectedly hard shot by Etienne Montens in the 6th minute of play forced De Rudies's goalkeeper Benny Wiggers to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Jeffrey Putman blasted a shot towards the goal in the 7th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Benny Wiggers having to make a save. Benny Wiggers took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Jules Cools, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 15 minutes into the game, Remy Bekaert recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Alphonse Dumont. Remy Bekaert showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 1-1. Jules Cools kicked well hit freekick during the 18th minute of the match. Remy Bekaert who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 22ndth minute tested the skills of Alphonse Dumont when he managed to save the team from getting behind. When the match had gone on for 24 minutes, Etienne Montens put it in 1-2 from a short distance just to the right of Benny Wiggers. Yellow City Devils's Etienne Montens got a good chance for a goal in the 27th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After 28th play minutes Etienne Montens shot 1-3, a short shot which went by Benny Wiggers and just under the crossbar into goal. After a rather tough play, Yellow City Devils's Joannes Van Meerbeeck got a free kick in the 31st minute. Etienne Montens recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 35th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 38th minute, De Rudies's Mark Meulemans ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Alphonse Dumont. Alphonse Dumont yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 2-3. The audience was convinced that Etienne Montens's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Benny Wiggers was relentless in the 45th minute of the game. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 2-3.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Etienne Montens stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. With a little luck, De Rudies's Benny Wiggers got control of the ball when Etienne Montens tried to sneak it across the goal line. In the 53rd minute, De Rudies's goalie took a deep sigh of relief after Joannes Van Meerbeeck fired away a hard shot that went just outside the left post. Etienne Montens fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 56th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Benny Wiggers having to interfere. When the match clock showed 58 minutes, the score became 2-4 when Etienne Montens sped through De Rudies's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Benny Wiggers. Etienne Montens in the 62ndth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Benny Wiggers, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. Joannes Van Meerbeeck received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 63rd minute. Benny Wiggers tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Yellow City Devils made a substitution. Joerie Van der Veken replaced Yannik Meulders. A collision led to De Rudies getting a freekick after 67 minutes play. Mark Meulemans hit a great ball. After a rather tough play, De Rudies's Remy Bekaert got a free kick in the 73rd minute. After 80 minutes, Etienne Montens made it 3-5 with a short kick to the right side. De Rudies's Benny Wiggers tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. After having played for 85 minutes, Etienne Montens managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Yellow City Devils's supporters crossed their fingers, but Etienne Montens was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Mark Meulemans during the 86th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Mark Meulemans hit a great freekick 86 minutes into the match. When Etienne Montens came up free with the goalie in the 88th minute, the Yellow City Devils fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Etienne Montens couldn't finish the play. Carlos Keldermans's late challenge caught a Yellow City Devils's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Carlos Keldermans helped the player get up and apologised. The supporters of Yellow City Devils booed when De Rudies was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 91 match minutes in a wonderful position. Carlos Keldermans didn't get a good kick on the ball. Dimitry De Weerdt blasted a shot towards the goal in the 95th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Benny Wiggers having to make a save. Jeffrey Putman fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 96th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Benny Wiggers having to interfere. When the final whistle sounded Yellow City Devils left the ground with the victory after a much better performance than De Rudies.
