If Yoachim Van Acker had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 6th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Timmy Velkeneers made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Ronny Stuycken in the 8th minute of play. After 10 played minutes Wommelgem got a freekick which was hit by Viktor de Pelsmacker. Sander Bruyninckx took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 11th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Timmy Velkeneers. Wommelgem's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. VC Fl's defense didn't have a chance, in the 15th minute, when Yoachim Van Acker scored to the left of an out of position Bastiaan Sustens, making the score, 1-0. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Yoachim Van Acker in the 21st minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Bastiaan Sustens prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Yoachim Van Acker received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 28th minute. Bastiaan Sustens tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 31 minutes in the game, Yoachim Van Acker fired away an excellent shot, which passed to the side of the right post without Bastiaan Sustens having to interfere. In the 33rd minute, Sander Bruyninckx hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Yoachim Van Acker received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 35th minute. Bastiaan Sustens tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Ronny Stuycken sent away a hard shot on goal in the 36th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After some careless play in the Wommelgem defense, Ief Laureys kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Timmy Velkeneers. The Wommelgem fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Timmy Velkeneers should have stopped the shot. The first half was very even, with the score at 1-1 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

In the 51st minute the ball was on its way in behind VC Fl's goalkeeper Bastiaan Sustens, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Ronny Stuycken blasted a shot towards the goal in the 56th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Timmy Velkeneers having to make a save. In the 58th minute Ronny Stuycken shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Timmy Velkeneers saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Ronny Stuycken was extremely unlucky when he, in the 71st minute, took a shot that hit the right post and went out. 73 minutes into the match, Wommelgem's goalkeeper Timmy Velkeneers had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Ief Laureys. After 73 minutes, Gert Louis mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Wommelgem and the VC Fl players grew even worse after the yellow card. The supporters of VC Fl booed when Wommelgem was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 74 match minutes in a wonderful position. Gert Louis didn't get a good kick on the ball. Bastiaan Sustens didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Thibau Vissenaekens went, in the 78th minute, to the upper right corner, 2-1 was the resulting score. Thibau Vissenaekens sent away a hard shot on goal in the 83rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After a rather tough play, VC Fl's Boris Stevens got a free kick in the 86th minute. Yoachim Van Acker struck a weak shot in the 87th minute. Bastiaan Sustens didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Wommelgem. Wommelgem's Yoachim Van Acker got a good chance for a goal in the 89th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Thibau Vissenaekens recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 91st minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Giovanni Langendonckx hit a great freekick 92 minutes into the match. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The Wommelgem fans cheered their team off the field, for while VC Fl had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
