The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Paul Van Herendael showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. Tomas Geraerts blasted a shot towards the goal in the 32nd minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Paul Van Herendael having to make a save. In the 36th minute Erik-Jan Van De Look shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Ferdinand Deswarte saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The Koekelare MFC players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. KVWZ were winning 0-4.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Marnix Laurent was the one to do the kick off. Tomas Geraerts sent away a hard shot on goal in the 53rd minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Paul Van Herendael stood somewhat misplaced when Marnix Laurent came free in front of goal and shot 0-5 to the left of him in the 56 minute. In the 60thth minute of the game Marnix Laurent who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Koekelare MFC's Paul Van Herendael was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. After a rather tough play, Koekelare MFC's Martin Valckx got a free kick in the 61st minute. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Marnix Laurent in the 63rd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Paul Van Herendael saved Koekelare MFC from getting behind. Tibaut Goffeyn kicked well hit freekick during the 65th minute of the match. The audience thought a goal was coming when Marnix Laurent got free with Paul Van Herendael in the 68th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. In the 70th minute the ball was on its way in behind Koekelare MFC's goalkeeper Paul Van Herendael, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. 72 minutes into the match, KVWZ's Marnix Laurent sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Paul Van Herendael narrowly saved just below the crossbar. A hard shot 80 in the game by Marnix Laurent from a close distance when the talented Paul Van Herendael managed to make a qualified save. Koekelare MFC's players were relieved. After 87 played minutes, KVWZ's Tibaut Goffeyn shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Paul Van Herendael came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in KVWZ reached it. Paul Van Herendael made a fantastic save in the 88th minute, when Marnix Laurent sent off a good shot on target. Paul Van Herendael showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Mike Wijnants in the 90th minute of the match. Paul Van Herendael stood somewhat misplaced when Marnix Laurent came free in front of goal and shot 0-8 to the left of him in the 92 minute. KVWZ played a much better game than Koekelare MFC and deserved their victory. The Koekelare MFC players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
