Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Jilian Andriesens in the 35th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Lucjan Domala prevented the ball from getting in the gole. 36 minutes in the game, Jilian Andriesens fired away an excellent shot, which passed to the side of the right post without Lucjan Domala having to interfere. If Remy Jannes had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 42nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Lucjan Domala showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Jilian Andriesens, who was totally free with the ball in the 46th minute. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

The wind increased when Remy Jannes made the kick off in the second half. A collision led to Spartak Lier getting a freekick after 52 minutes play. Timothy Heijlen hit a great ball. RSC Anderlecht's Timothy De Vlaeminck took a good shot, in the 52nd minute, which hit the crossbar above Lucjan Domala's head, and flew over the goal. Spartak Lier's manager was very thankful on the sidelines as his team had managed to keep the ball out of the net after some serious pressure by RSC Anderlecht. In the 58th minute, Richard Van De Putts got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Jilian Andriesens scored 1-0 in the 59th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Lucjan Domala, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. After a defensive mix-up in RSC Anderlecht's zone, Remy Jannes stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Serge Van Linthoud came out of the goal and Remy Jannes tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Jilian Andriesens fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 67th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Lucjan Domala having to interfere. The supporters of Spartak Lier booed when RSC Anderlecht was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 68 match minutes in a wonderful position. Arthur-Maurits Severens didn't get a good kick on the ball. RSC Anderlecht's Serge Van Linthoud proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 70th minute of the match, managed to save RSC Anderlecht from getting a goal against them. 72 minutes into the game, Spartak Lier's Remy Jannes nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Serge Van Linthoud made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-1. When Remy Jannes fell near the penalty area in the 75th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Spartak Lier's protests and gave Remy Jannes a yellow card for diving instead. After 75 played minutes Spartak Lier got a freekick which was hit by Remy Jannes. Serge Van Linthoud took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Billy Lijsens, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. When the referee blew the final whistle, you could see the dissatisfaction in the RSC Anderlecht players' eyes. They were disappointed they hadn't taken more from the game.
