Spectators: 6828 (Terracing: 5000, Seating: 1828, VIP seats: 0) When Varinkshoek's Ian Lenoir in the 4th minute got a chance for a shot 4th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye DOVO's goalie prevented a goal. When the match clock showed 6 minutes, the score became 0-1 when Ian Lenoir sped through DOVO's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Gerrit Peers. Jannic Van de Poel sent away a hard shot on goal in the 9th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 13th minute the ball was on its way in behind DOVO's goalkeeper Gerrit Peers, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. After 15 played minutes DOVO got a freekick which was hit by Jochen Goegebeur. After 16 played minutes, Varinkshoek's Emile Langendonckx shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Gerrit Peers came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Varinkshoek reached it. After some careless play in the DOVO defense, Ian Lenoir kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Gerrit Peers. The DOVO fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Gerrit Peers should have stopped the shot. An unexpectedly hard shot by Jannic Van de Poel in the 23rd minute of play forced Varinkshoek's goalkeeper Reinaert Verhasselt to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Gerrit Peers took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Ben Laporte, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 28th minute, Frits Baele got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. 34 minutes into the match, Varinkshoek's Ian Lenoir sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Gerrit Peers narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Ian Lenoir in the 36th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Gerrit Peers prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Ian Lenoir sent away a hard shot on goal in the 40th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 44 minutes into the game, Varinkshoek's Ian Lenoir nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Gerrit Peers made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-3. Varinkshoek's Ben Laporte got a good chance for a goal in the 48th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Disappointed in the 0-3 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Ian Lenoir was the one to do the kick off. Emile Langendonckx missed a clear chance of a goal when in the 59 minute of the game fired away a shot, but unfortunally the ball went out to the Gerrit Peers right hand side. In the 68th match minute, DOVO was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Alek Van Der Eyde to maneuver through the defense. In the 69th minute of the match, Ian Lenoir tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Gerrit Peers saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. With his leg Gerrit Peers managed to avoid a goal in the 70thth minute, when Varinkshoek's Ben Laporte fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. Matthy Van de Weijer recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 74th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Ian Lenoir sent away a hard shot on goal in the 75th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Ian Lenoir in the 81st managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Gerrit Peers saved DOVO from getting behind. Ben Laporte received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 85th minute. Gerrit Peers tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The audience thought a goal was coming when Ben Laporte got free with Gerrit Peers in the 87th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Ian Lenoir received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 88th minute. Gerrit Peers tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Ben Laporte recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 96th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Varinkshoek's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
