The referee ignored Tongeren FC's protests and gave Ludwig Van Eede a yellow card for diving instead. After a rather tough play, Tongeren FC's Ludwig Van Eede got a free kick in the 7th minute. When SC Retie's Fabrice Mallaerts in the 11th minute got a chance for a shot 11th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 1-0 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. Bram De Block took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Vincent Temmerman, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. An unexpectedly hard shot by Ernest Van Eede in the 24th minute of play forced Tongeren FC's goalkeeper Iustinian Babarada to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After some fancy dribbling in the 25th minute, Luukas Van Gysel managed to get in a good position for a shot. Tongeren FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Luukas Van Gysel was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Bram De Block breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 27th minute of the match, Vincent Temmerman tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Bram De Block saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. The supporters of SC Retie booed when Tongeren FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 34 match minutes in a wonderful position. Luukas Van Gysel didn't get a good kick on the ball. After a rather tough play, Tongeren FC's Vincent Temmerman got a free kick in the 38th minute. Tongeren FC's Iustinian Babarada played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Ernest Van Eede in the 39th minute of play. Terry Van Meerbeek hit a great freekick 40 minutes into the match. With his leg Bram De Block managed to avoid a goal in the 43rdth minute, when Tongeren FC's Luukas Van Gysel fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. Bram De Block made an important save on a dangerous shot by Luukas Van Gysel in the 46th minute. The score stood at 1-1 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Vincent Temmerman made a kick off. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Vincent Temmerman in the 51st managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Bram De Block saved SC Retie from getting behind. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Ernest Van Eede in the 54th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Iustinian Babarada prevented the ball from getting in the gole. 56 minutes into the match, SC Retie's goal looked a bit too open when Vincent Temmerman came free, but Bram De Block reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The crowd rose to their feet as Ernest Van Eede kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Iustinian Babarada. That made the score 1-2 in the 58 minute of play. 61 minutes into the match, Tongeren FC's goal looked a bit too open when Ernest Van Eede came free, but Iustinian Babarada reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Luukas Van Gysel in the 65th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Bram De Block prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Bram De Block showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Vincent Temmerman, who was totally free with the ball in the 66th minute. In the 67th minute Luukas Van Gysel shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Bram De Block saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Vincent Temmerman in the 69th minute of play forced SC Retie's goalkeeper Bram De Block to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The audience thought a goal was coming when Fabrice Mallaerts got free with Iustinian Babarada in the 70th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Jim Wyns's shot from long distance in the 73rd minute was not bad at all, but Tongeren FC's Iustinian Babarada knew what was happening and pushed the ball into his arms just before it hit the right post. When the match clock showed 74 minutes, the score became 2-2 when Vincent Temmerman sped through SC Retie's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Bram De Block. After 79 played minutes Tongeren FC got a freekick which was hit by Ronny Spoelberghe. After having played for 80 minutes, Ernest Van Eede managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. SC Retie's supporters crossed their fingers, but Ernest Van Eede was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 83rd minute Luukas Van Gysel shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Bram De Block saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After a rather tough play, SC Retie's Georges-Philippe Everaerts got a free kick in the 84th minute. Ernest Van Eede's late challenge caught a Tongeren FC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Ernest Van Eede helped the player get up and apologised. Ernest Van Eede hit a great freekick 90 minutes into the match. 91 minutes into the match, Tongeren FC's Luukas Van Gysel sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Bram De Block narrowly saved just below the crossbar. If Vincent Temmerman had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 98th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead.
