The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Reinaert Verhasselt came out of the goal and Vilhelm Fristedt tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Kurt Kesters took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Ian Lenoir, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Vilhelm Fristedt received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 19th minute. Reinaert Verhasselt tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 21 minutes into the game, Vilhelm Fristedt lined in a short shot 1-0 behind a frustrated Reinaert Verhasselt. 23 minutes into the game, Jochen Van Gorpt was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Varinkshoek's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Club Leeuwergem the free kick. Timothy Rompen received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 36th minute. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Ian Lenoir made a kick off. After 52 minutes, Ben Laporte mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Varinkshoek and the Club Leeuwergem players grew even worse after the yellow card. Kurt Kesters made a fantastic save in the 58th minute, when Ben Laporte sent off a good shot on target. If Nickolas Verbeeck had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 66th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 70 minutes into the match, Club Leeuwergem's Vilhelm Fristedt sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Reinaert Verhasselt narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Vilhelm Fristedt fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 72nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Reinaert Verhasselt having to interfere. Yves Van Meerbeec's late challenge caught a Club Leeuwergem's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Ian Lenoir in the 89th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Kurt Kesters prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Nickolas Verbeeck sent away a hard shot on goal in the 91st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Reinaert Verhasselt came out of the goal in the 93rd minute to try and stop a shot by Club Leeuwergem's Vilhelm Fristedt. But to his dismay, Vilhelm Fristedt quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 3-0. After some careless play in the Varinkshoek defense, Nickolas Verbeeck kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Reinaert Verhasselt. The Varinkshoek fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Reinaert Verhasselt should have stopped the shot. There were very few away supporters still in the ground by the end of the match. Most of them had left early, disgusted by the way their team had been torn apart. Club Leeuwergem fully deserved thier win.
