Beerschot VA's Jeremy Swin got a free kick in the 9th minute. Johnny Roscams recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 12th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Jamie Haelemans showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Jeremy Swin, who was totally free with the ball in the 16th minute. 18 minutes into the game, Hans Van haeck recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Bert Nilis. Hans Van haeck showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 1-0. The supporters of İstanbul Başakşehir F.K. booed when K. Beerschot VA was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 23 match minutes in a wonderful position. Thys Sommers didn't get a good kick on the ball. If Johnny Roscams had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 26th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Bert Nilis showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Hans Van haeck, who was totally free with the ball in the 28th minute. With an all-out effort, İstanbul Başakşehir F.K.'s Bert Nilis threw himself towards the right post 41 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Hans Van haeck, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. Jamie Haelemans showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Thys Sommers in the 44th minute of the match. Af the end of the first half the score was 2-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Julien Toussain to make the kick off. Johnny Roscams struck a weak shot in the 56th minute. Bert Nilis didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for İstanbul Başakşehir F.K.. If Erwin Reuters had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 60th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Johnny Roscams in the 67th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Bert Nilis saved K. Beerschot VA from getting behind. A collision led to İstanbul Başakşehir F.K. getting a freekick after 69 minutes play. Erwin Reuters hit a great ball. Jamie Haelemans made an important save on a dangerous shot by Thys Sommers in the 71st minute. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Johnny Roscams in the 74th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Bert Nilis prevented the ball from getting in the gole. In the 75thth minute of the game Johnny Roscams who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but K. Beerschot VA's Bert Nilis was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. During the 76th minute of the match Erwin Reuters completely mistimed his tackle and brought down his opponent. The referee gave Erwin Reuters a yellow card, his second in the match, which meant he could no longer take part in the game. Erwin Reuters hit a great freekick 76 minutes into the match. In the 78th minute, one of İstanbul Başakşehir F.K.:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for İstanbul Başakşehir F.K.. 88 minutes into the game, İstanbul Başakşehir F.K.'s Charly Postens nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Bert Nilis made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 3-0. Charly Postens sent away a hard shot on goal in the 91st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Jeremy Swin received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 96th minute. Jamie Haelemans tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Quentin Cooreman hit a great freekick 98 minutes into the match. There were very few away supporters still in the ground by the end of the match. Most of them had left early, disgusted by the way their team had been torn apart. İstanbul Başakşehir F.K. fully deserved thier win.
