Nilton Santos didn't get a good kick on the ball. If Nickolas Verbeeck had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 7th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. When Vilhelm Fristedt came up free with the goalie in the 11th minute, the Club Leeuwergem fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Vilhelm Fristedt couldn't finish the play. Vilhelm Fristedt sent away a hard shot on goal in the 18th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 20 minutes into the match, Nickolas Verbeeck had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Gerrit Peers. DOVO's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Nickolas Verbeeck was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-0. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 23rd minute of the game. One of DOVO:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Club Leeuwergem:s goal. After having played for 26 minutes, Vilhelm Fristedt managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Club Leeuwergem's supporters crossed their fingers, but Vilhelm Fristedt was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. An unexpected shot in the 30th minute by Nickolas Verbeeck got the crowd on their feet, but to their dismay it went out on the left side. After 39 played minutes Club Leeuwergem got a freekick which was hit by Ronald Vercalsteren. Christopher Sanders took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 40th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Kurt Kesters. Club Leeuwergem's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. 42 minutes into the game, Vilhelm Fristedt recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Gerrit Peers. Vilhelm Fristedt showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 2-0. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 2-0 at half-time.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Vilhelm Fristedt to make the kick off. In the 52nd minute, Nickolas Verbeeck made a precise shot to the right of Gerrit Peers. DOVO's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 3-0. After 57 played minutes Club Leeuwergem got a freekick which was hit by Gilian Denys. Gerrit Peers showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Vilhelm Fristedt, who was totally free with the ball in the 60th minute. Nickolas Verbeeck took the ball and in the 62 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Gerrit Peers. Gerrit Peers dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 4-0. Nickolas Verbeeck fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 66th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Gerrit Peers having to interfere. 67 minutes into the match, Vilhelm Fristedt had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Gerrit Peers. Vilhelm Fristedt blasted a shot towards the goal in the 74th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Gerrit Peers having to make a save. An unexpectedly hard shot by Vilhelm Fristedt in the 80th minute of play forced DOVO's goalkeeper Gerrit Peers to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 81st minute, Nickolas Verbeeck left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Club Leeuwergem fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 6-0. Nickolas Verbeeck struck a weak shot in the 85th minute. Gerrit Peers didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Club Leeuwergem. Nickolas Verbeeck's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Gerrit Peers read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 92nd minute of play. Vilhelm Fristedt might have been able to make a better finish in the 93rd minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Gerrit Peers. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Vilhelm Fristedt ran back to his position shaking his head. Nickolas Verbeeck took the ball and in the 97 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Gerrit Peers. Gerrit Peers dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 7-0. Club Leeuwergem's supporters were delighted with their team's performance and swarmed onto the pitch at the end of the match to celebrate the victory with the players.
