In the 3rd minute, Russ Mullen got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. The audience was convinced that Maxim-Alexander Verstappen's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Bram De Block was relentless in the 5th minute of the game. Ronny Van Aken fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 8th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Bram De Block having to interfere. Bram De Block took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Russ Mullen, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 13 minutes into the match, İstanbul Başakşehir F.K.'s goal looked a bit too open when Ernest Van Eede came free, but Ludwig Devriendt reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 20 minutes into the game, Ronny Van Aken cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-1. Bram De Block was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Ronny Van Aken struck a weak shot in the 25th minute. Bram De Block didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for İstanbul Başakşehir F.K.. Nic Van Hallebeecke kicked well hit freekick during the 27th minute of the match. Kenneth Decaluwe recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 28th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Gill Puttemas received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 32nd minute. Bram De Block tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Fabrice Mallaerts could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 37th minute of the match, but Ludwig Devriendt made a huge save. After having played for 38 minutes, Russ Mullen managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. İstanbul Başakşehir F.K.'s supporters crossed their fingers, but Russ Mullen was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. When the match had gone on for 40 minutes, Maxim-Alexander Verstappen put it in 0-2 from a short distance just to the right of Bram De Block. Bram De Block made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Maxim-Alexander Verstappen in the 43rd minute of play. Ernest Van Eede received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Ludwig Devriendt came out and tried to block the shot, but Ernest Van Eede slotted it home off the left post making it 1-2 in the 48th minute. Disappointed in the 1-2 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

If Sylvan Klopterop had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 54th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 56 minutes into the match, İstanbul Başakşehir F.K.'s goal looked a bit too open when Fabrice Mallaerts came free, but Ludwig Devriendt reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Ludwig Devriendt showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Ernest Van Eede in the 62nd minute of the match. SC Retie's supporters crossed their fingers, but Ernest Van Eede was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. After 73 minutes of play, SC Retie's Ernest Van Eede made it 2-3 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Ludwig Devriendt was left in no man's land by his defense there! With an all-out effort, İstanbul Başakşehir F.K.'s Bram De Block threw himself towards the right post 76 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Maxim-Alexander Verstappen, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. 78 minutes into the game, Ernest Van Eede cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 3-3. Ludwig Devriendt was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. 82 minutes into the match, Fabrice Mallaerts notched a goal, 4-3, to the right of İstanbul Başakşehir F.K.'s Ludwig Devriendt. Ludwig Devriendt was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. The crowd rose to their feet as İstanbul Başakşehir F.K.'s Ronny Van Aken slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Bram De Block. That made the score 4-4 after 86 minutes of play. In the 88th minute, SC Retie's goalie took a deep sigh of relief after Maxim-Alexander Verstappen fired away a hard shot that went just outside the left post. İstanbul Başakşehir F.K.'s Ludwig Devriendt played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Sylvan Klopterop in the 91st minute of play. Ludwig Devriendt showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Fabrice Mallaerts, who was totally free with the ball in the 95th minute. Ludwig Devriendt took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Fabrice Mallaerts, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Despite being the better team, İstanbul Başakşehir F.K. failed to find the winning goal and were forced to settle for a single point.
