Gino Van Haeght made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-1. If Alex Sproten had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 16th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After 18 played minutes comeback got a freekick which was hit by Mathieu-Maxim Vissenaeken. Gino Van Haeght made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Tommi De Bruyn in the 20th minute of play. Georges Michiels took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 22nd minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Gino Van Haeght. comeback's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. Alex Sproten's late challenge caught a comeback's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Alex Sproten helped the player get up and apologised. Sylvan Owerckx received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 29th minute. Claude Renotte tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by Georges-Philippe Mampaerts in the 32nd minute of play forced comeback's goalkeeper Gino Van Haeght to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Tommi De Bruyn fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 35th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Gino Van Haeght having to interfere. After 38 played minutes FC Kroeters got a freekick which was hit by Georges-Philippe Mampaerts. Sylvan Owerckx was extremely unlucky when he, in the 40th minute, took a shot that hit the right post and went out. Erik Tuytgans could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 43rd minute of the match, but Claude Renotte made a huge save. If Alex Sproten had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 44th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 47 minutes into the game, Bass Rijmenams was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. comeback's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave FC Kroeters the free kick. After 47 played minutes comeback got a freekick which was hit by Bass Rijmenams. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-2 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Alex Sproten stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. 53 minutes into the game, FC Kroeters's Alex Sproten nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. A very good chance. Gino Van Haeght showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Alex Sproten in the 66th minute of the match. Tommi De Bruyn fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 68th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Gino Van Haeght having to interfere. 70 minutes into the match, Alex Sproten notched a goal, 0-4, to the right of comeback's Gino Van Haeght. Gino Van Haeght was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Gino Van Haeght was out of position in the 76 minute of play, and Alex Sproten capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Alex Sproten really showed his touch with that goal: 0-5. Claude Renotte made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Sylvan Owerckx in the 83rd minute of play. Claude Renotte came out of the goal in the 95th minute to try and stop a shot by comeback's Sylvan Owerckx. But to his dismay, Sylvan Owerckx quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-5. Tommi De Bruyn recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 98th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. The comeback fans had already started to leave before the final whistle blew. FC Kroeters were clearly better and deserved to take the win.
